Recipes from the World of Tolkien: Inspired by the Legends

Great gift for a Tolkien fan, the pages are lovely well illustrated. The recipes are varied in type and complexity but as it was a gift I haven’t tried them.

Lots of fantastically easy recipes to make (apart from the mead which can take up to one year to make! It's easy to make but waiting a year to taste it must be a torture the likes of only Sauron could devise!).It gives you the feel of actually making hobbit food or foods of the enemy and they are fun, great foods and drinks to share with friends especially if they also love the works of Tolkien. Who wouldn't want to eat Lambas bread while sipping on Orc draught?The book feels like it wants to keep these ideas simple so everyone can get involved and even if you're not the best cook, there are more than enough recipes in this book for people to find something to their skill and taste.The book itself has a lot of love poured into it explaining the food of Middle-Earth, little bits of lore from the series and some artwork to accompany this too.If you want a little adventure in your daily cooking then I find this to be a great book and I can't recommend it highly enough.Just don't blame me if your find dwarves turning up at your door ready to devour your pantry.

Bought as a gift for a lord of the rings fanatic. Was very well received. Beautiful book. Can’t comment on the quality of the recipes but I guess it’s authentic enough if you’re trying to eat like a hobbit
