Pastor MacArthur describes in this short book that the only way for us to stand firm against the evils we face in society is through the knowledge and obedience to the Word of God. He explains clearly that these things we must do, not on our own strength but through the power of God acting in us. It is a blessing to read pastor MacArthur's books because they are filled with biblical references that gives us confidence that the teaching is based on the Truth of God. By reading this book, we can be sure of our need of the indwelling of the Word of God in our minds and consciences in order to live a more sanctified life, being light in this darkened world. This is a must read book, that should be read and re-read by all who want to grow in the knowledge and love for our Lord Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. What a joy to be reminded that our happiness comes from the Hope we have in Jesus, especially living in these times full of disease, depravity, persecution, and death. Great message! Great book!

This is an excellent book that presents an appropriate challenge to believers seeking to stand firm in our obedience to Jesus Christ in our ever declining world. Regardless of the circumstances of our world, we believers have the power of Jesus living within us, His Holy Spirit, and the guidance of His unfailing, inerrant, perfect word. Thank you to MacArthur for this wonderful, timely, relevant book!

John MacArthur has written yet another book to help his fellow believers to know the truth of what it means and how believers should respond to the difficulties in life. And how we should respond to our brothers and sisters in Christ. This book will help you grow in his word and or refresh your mind and heart.

As always, in every book he writes, Dr. MacArthur offers us the Word of God, holding back no punches. If you are offended by his writing, you should be if you are not a believer. The message of the Bible is complex and stinging on those who do not believe that they may awaken and face the reality of who they are and come to Jesus for salvation

I’ve been walking with the Lord for awhile now, and as I’ve grown spiritually I’ve seen SO MANY books on Christianity and the various aspects of it. I’ve prayed and searched and toiled through many books to find something that helps you understand the meaning and purpose of being a disciple of Jesus.This book (among a select few authors I’ve been reading) was an excellent book. It’s one thing to write a book and publish it like many others, but it’s another thing alltogether to spend the time, the research, devoting much prayer and thought to put something out there that’s really helpful in times such as these when discipleship is taking such a huge hit, where truth and righteousness and justice and honor in our Lord is taking some really big hits to date.It’s getting harder and harder to find spiritual books, articles, Anything really - that points to true and authentic discipleship and Lordship of Jesus Christ.... but I’m very glad to spend some great time reading this one and I’d highly recommend this to others who want to learn about our Lord without the fluff and the runaround that you get from many places.“Enter through the narrow gate.
