As primarily an English speaker, it's very difficult to find books that are written about the history of the Coptic church. Father Daniel, based on the amount of research mentioned in the book, has done an amazing job writing this book, in my humble opinion. It's hard to write about many years of research and history in the same organized, streamlined, and creative way as he did. May God reward you, father, heavenly and earthly.

What an inspiring book! I did not want it to end, and savoured every glimpse of the life and spirituality of this wonderful man of God. It left me with a deep spiritual hunger.

This book is to the point. It explores the time of his holiness Pope Kyrolos vi. It is backed up with historical evidence and facts. It is well written with in depth details. It confirms what everyone knew. Pop Kyrolos was a holy man of God. He healed many people and he healed the church.

Father Daniel Fanous did an excellent job detailing the life of his holiness, Pope Kyrillos VI. The reader immediately learns so many lessons from Pope Kyrillos in regards to humility, the power of continuous prayer, the importance of the liturgy, and "his kenotic ecclesiology.” This is a must read for anyone who wants to learn or better understand the life of this saint as well as learn about the history of Egypt in this time period.

Patriarch Kyrillos VI was an ascetical master, a miracle-worker, a bearer of ancient monastic wisdom in the modern world. He accomplished what no others could have accomplished, all the while remaining mostly silent. What a contrast to the talk-talk-talk of the modern world, which is falling apart before our very eyes for lack of spirituality! My wife and I read this out loud and our esteem for the Coptic Church, which was already great from reading Mosebach's The 21 and Gruber's Journey Back to Eden, grew to altogether new heights.

This is the best book I have read for many years. Such a great book about a great Saint!St. Pope Kyrillos VI is not just a story of a monk who became a Patriarch but a life of a Patriarch who remained a monk for his whole life.May his blessings be with us all, Amen
