Very Happy with Camera - UPS delivery could have been better
Included half case, unexpected. Note: for Leica, battery charger is to charge the battery in the camera, I did not know that. Lens cap supplied self opens, did not realize that, was looking to buy that kind in advance of getting the camera. UPS must not be familiar with delivering to this complex, left note by the building front door (faces the road) that was delivering it to the local UPS store vs try to redeliver. Other delivery services leave packages at the back door that faces the parking lot (such as the Amazon trucks), and they send picture showing the package location. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

One Awesome Little Camera
I have several great DSLR cameras and have traveled with all of them. Over time I keep looking for something smaller, lighter but still capable of amazing photos. I picked up this Leica based on the recommendation of a friend. So far I love it. The photos are sharp. The colors are amazing. The dynamic range is unbelievably good for a point and shoot style camera. When I travel I find myself in many low light situations. That’s where my big DSLR cameras have excelled. This little camera seems to do about as good as my expensive DSLRs. The camera can be used as a simple point and shoot, but if you want lots of control you can do that to create the image you want. The camera is feature rich. It has more options than any of my DSLRs have. This camera is for serious photographers and worth every penny, plus it just looks super cool and retro. When I pull it out, people seeing it for the first time ask if I’m shooting film. I highly recommend this camera, especially for those that love high quality photography and want to capture images all the time that are far superior to what they can get on a smart phone.

Amazing Leica Compact
Amazing Leica product. Compact and full feature. Everyone says it’s the LUMIX with a Leica red dot… definitely not. While some features and lens is the same, the construction is totally different, the Leica Fotos app and transfer of images is perfect. This camera is a gem. Been using Leica gear for over 35 years and was looking for a compact piece… this is perfect. I recommend getting the grip for a better feel and buying extra LUMIX batteries, not the Leica at almost $200 each, I would avoid the generic in this one, just my opinion as there are so many electronics and they would could the warranty if there was an issue. I also purchased the LUMIX battery charger, not a fan of in body charging. The generic battery does charge the OEM batteries fine

Way too complicated a camera.
First of all, I am a 72 year old photographer. I have photographed for over 50 years, and been into digital from day one. I am well accustomed with electronics, but I don't have much patience with unnecessary features - as I see them - in a camera. I find them distracting and this Leica D-Lux 7 features enough to make my head spin!Like all Leica products, it is superbly crafted and has a beautiful feel, but I prefer to focus on taking a good image I can edit in Photoshop instead of fiddling with all kinds of effects offered by the camera or looking for settings buried deep in the menu. I found the camera to be ridiculously complicated and, due to its small size, very difficult for my fingers to navigate.Last, but not least, all parts made for or by Leica are obscenely expensive! A automatic lens cap, a cheap peace of plastic, $79, not to mention over $200 for a spare battery!I had it all of one day and then I returned it, and I am very glad I did. Back to my Canon 5D Mark 4.

Not what I expected
Not of great quality to be in the infamous Leica brand of cameras. I expected it to be of much better build quality. It is made of plastic and feels cheap. The image quality it produces is not what I expected it to be either. This was my first “Red Dot” camera and if this is any indication of the quality of this brand, it will be my last.

Best in Class
I really like this camera. Most importantly, the results are sharp with great color rendition plus it’s look, feel and controls are classic Leica quality. You can buy better in some aspects, but you’ll pay 3x more. This camera is "fun" to use.
