I bought this to replace my previous water fountain (different brand) which died after 3 years' sterling service. I use it without the spout attachment, as this is what our cat was already used to - in this mode, it's quiet (a low volume gentle hum) when in operation. I find it easy to fill and clean, and filter changing is simple.I like the modular nature of it - the pump and motion detectors are distinct components, which means they can be easily removed to clean the main unit, so I don't have to worry as much about water getting where it shouldn't during cleaning.I think this is very good value compared to other products on the market with similar functionality (but will update my review if it breaks down prematurely). It even came with its own cleaning kit, which is very useful.I think the setup instructions could have been clearer, though I didn't find it very difficult to figure out. One aspect that wasn't clear to me from the description was that the motion detector is separate from the main unit (see photo, where motion detector is mounted on the wall - you attach the mains cord to the motion detector, and connect the motion detector to the pump via a USB connector) - as I previously mentioned, I think this is an advantage for cleaning purposes, but it confused me initially.

Well I love it....shame the cat isn't interested! May be because it is clear and she can't see it/recognise it as water for her to drink?! The fountain is quite loud with the full height of the tap/tube, but you can remove the outlet part and the tube itself is in 2 sections so you can shorten it to make it quieter. The pump is a bit tricky to fit to the tube but once you've figured it out its fine. Assembles easily enough. Am going to try and wrap something around it to make it easier for her to see and hopefully that helps. The product itself is great though. Would recommend if you have a cat that will use it!

I am reviewing this product more than one year after purchase. I bought this fountain for our 16 year old cat who became obsessed with our kitchen tap. He used the fountain straight away but did not fully abandon the tap. The fountain looks good, it is not noisy, but became very handy when our cat was diagnosed with a mouth cancer. The fountain helped him to relief and clean his mouth until his very last day, one year later from purchase, short of his 17th birthday. Switching off the fountain was a sad day, but glad it lasted that long. The good-old fountain worked very well for a year despite inevitably accumulating some limescale from the hard UK water. The cleaning kit makes cleaning it a very fast process. The fountain was extremely helpful and we were happy with the purchase.

It may work for other cats, but mine didn’t like it. The build quality is OKayish. It’s one of those products where you constantly need to buy filter every month. I don’t recommend it!

First one was faulty as the pump didn’t work but Amazon refunded me straight away. We ordered another one that arrived working. Cat and dog love it. We did take the top spout off as the noise of water hitting was too loud, so now it’s a soft sound like a vcr my husband says. The water just flows out of the up pipe. I personally like the design.
