Q: How does this work? Do you need a warmer for underneath or do you put it on top of the stove?

We recommend using a double boiling arrangement. Fill a boiling pan half full of water and put it on the stove. Heat up the water using medium-high heat and put the pitcher with wax inside while the water is heating up. There should be just enough water so that the pitcher keeps upright but is not touching the bottom of the boiling pan. For the best possible result, avoid getting water into the wax. We also recommend using a candle thermometer to have control of the temperature of the wax.

The candle making thermometer is not included but can be ordered separately from our store if needed.

The candle-making melting and pouring pot is made of lightweight high-quality aluminum. It is made in one seamless construction so the section that connects the handle to the pot is aluminum. You will find this pitcher to be much sturdier than most regular tin plate pitchers.
