I had to send two other chargers back after finding out they wouldn't revive my severely depleted Mercedes battery. Then I stepped up to this Battery Tender Charger and it does the job! - Cost a little more than the others - but like they say, you get what you pay for! - Besides, if you consider the money it saved me on NOT replacing the battery, it more than paid for itself!

Fully charged my battery to 12.8 volts in several hours. My 2006 Mustang GT sits under a cover outside, and is rarely driven anymore. The 3-year old battery had died completely, so I used jumper cables connected to our F150 to start the car. The car continued to cut off and battery was too weak to start again. Hooked up this Battery Tender, and within several hours, the battery was at full charge. Car now starts regularly without a problem. I 'm a fan of Battery Tender as I use a smaller one to keep my motorcycle battery topped off over the winter. Note: this charger will not charge a battery from a completely dead state. I was able to charge my battery because there was some residual energy left from the battery cable boost.

Nice charger, but I certainly wish they had included the option to charge/maintain a Li-Po battery in this unit. Kind of pricey for a charger without that feature...hence 4-stars.

I like that it worked very well and has a charge meter to let you know how the charging process is going in a battery-like image with ascending charge bars blinking. However, it read 80% for a long time after moving up from 20% in not a long time. Then finally jumped to showing 100%. No pass through any in-between. A GREAT improvement over the little motorcycle trickle charger Battery Tender, whose 1.25 amps never could get an auto battery up to the "green light, maintenance charge" stage.One big gripe: the cables to the battery from the unit are really too short, shorter than the small Battery Tender. With a car with its battery on the left front, and me trying to get cables to it from the right side, I had minimal ability to position the charger. As it was, I couldn't get the cables to go over the engine, down the right car side to reach the ground! I needed a stand to raise it closer to the battery . And because of the short cables, I wasn't able to position it completely out of the sun - and it runs an internal cooling fan already to dissipate its own heat. Even another foot of cord would have helped a lot.

I've used various Battery Tender products for the last twelve years. Never had one fail yet. This charger is perfect for an individual that doesn't need a professional-level charger for at home use. It's easy to use and switches over to the maintenance mode automatically. I use it to maintain the battery on my classic Corvette which is not driven as much as my daily driver. I have used this unit to restore power to my daily driver's battery when I accidentally drained the battery to the point I couldn't start my car because I failed to completely close the trunk lid leaving the trunk light on when I put the car in storage for an extended weekend trip. For those not well versed in battery charging, this unit has an "auto" mode that restores dead batteries, keeps sitting batteries at peak power, and maintains the battery for extended periods of time.
