Where was this manufactured?

The Cat Dancer toys are MADE IN USA. I contacted Cat Dancer directly. What happened is they have alternative packaging printed in Japanese characters to sell in Japan. Somehow, that image became displayed on the American Amazon webpage; and, long story short, resulted in the country of origin listed on Amazon's page switching to say China. THE PRODUCT IS INDEED MADE IN THE USA.

Is the wand (plastic, hand-held part) pretty sturdy and rigid or more flexible?

The wand is extremely sturdy plastic and the rainbow fabric is attached strongly. My two cats tug on it all the time and it has held up well. It is one of their favorite toys and a sure way to lure them back indoors in the evening.

I find it to be pretty sturdy. It does bend a little if your cat pulls the string too hard while youre still holding it but its not to the point where it would break. This is actually a great toy

Bought mine in March 2019 and felt part is 52 inches/132 cm long
