Makita DUB186Z leaf blower.
Got to love a Makita 18volt tool. Bought this leaf blower for my 80yrsold father in law. As its a lot lighter than the 36v one I've use for years. He's got makita drills so has battery's for it . It's surprisingly powerful , easy to use and light clearing the leaves from his drive and path with ease, even when wet. Being Makita the build quality and functionality is assured. Have tried it as a dust extractor/vacuum but if it sucks as hard as it blows should be OK.

Very Pleased - Small, Light, Manoeuvrable
I wondered how useful this blower was going to be - I'd read things like "Only lasts 10 minutes on max blow". But it turned out much more useful than I expected. I use it with 4 Amp Hour batteries and, yes, 10-15 minutes might be about right on max blow, but, use it on dry-ish leaves and the fact is, for most of the time, you don't need max blow. The pressure sensitive trigger controlling "strength of blow" (I found) works really well. I don't recall seeing this feature described in the product info before buying but it works really well ... you want more blow - press the trigger a bit harder ... You need less blow - squeeze the trigger less. I found it really intuitive. The blower is smaller than I expected too, not much bigger than aan 18V drill, so it's easy to store.I use it to blow leaves off the patio, the long narrow snout makes it's very easy to get behind flower pots, blow leaves out of corners. It's #o much easier than using a broom and having to move pots out of the way.I use it to clear leaves off the driveway - again much easier than sweeping - and other small areas around the garden. All in all, I'm very pleased I bought. It's also more fun to use than broom :-)

Surprisingly powerful Good Quality. No trigger lock though.
Usual Makita high build quality. Surprisingly powerful for such a small compact tool. The 3 power setting work well and as you blow the leaves into a pile you can reduce the power soYou don’t blow them away again.Only very annoying negative is the inability to lock the trigger on. Thus would have to hold it in when using which particularly for those with less strong fingers and or arthritis this can quickly cause fatigue.

Recommended for what it is.
I've only used this on relatively dry leaves on paved and impacted gravel driveway, parking area and pathways and it's worked a treat. Not tested, but I'd imagine it might struggle with wet leaves on grass, but I suspect that might be the case for most battery operated leaf blowers as they'll have limited power.I certainly wouldn't compare it to a pro-end contractors gear, so if that's what you need then this probably won't be for you, but for home / domestic use its ideal. On full power, one battery lasted a good half an hour and its simple, light, easy to use and not annoyingly noisy.

Fabulously powerful piece of kit
Worth every penny. I have an existing leaf blower that also sucks, but it’s bulky. If you want this small lightweight and yet powerful tool as a leaf blower, you won’t be disappointed, but I would only use the suck option (for which you would need the bag and I believe a different nozzle), it is better in the workshop than using it for leaves. Maybe someone will be able to say I’ve got that wrong, but I can’t see how you could suck leaves up.
