Soy Candle Making Kit

Fabulous! Highly recommend as a starter kit for first-time candle makers. SO EASY .. bought for my 12-yr-old grand daughter to make candles with as Christmas presents. She had a ball making the candles with ease . Comes with everything you need to get started. The bonus was the larger-sized pot that comes with it which will be useful in the future for making larger batches of candles. All the products were high quality. Love the cleaner burning soy-based Wax is easy 2 work with. Theres an ample supply of Wax & enough scent oil -very naturallly GOOD smelling. Was afraid they would smell fake and perfumy. It also comes with color blocks if you want to add color to your candles. It comes w/12 plain tins that ,with creativity, you could decorate. We made 15 candles from this 12 candle kit by filling 8-10 oz teacups& dessert glasses from the thrift shop. They were adorable;everyone loves them . The quality wicks "set" straight . The best thing- the wick stabilizers. Being new to candle making, I didn't realize how important they are. order an extra pack or two. We had to wait until the candle solidified enough for the Wicks to the set before we could use the stabilizers on the next 4. We didn't want to wait so we improvised but wished we had more Wick stabilizers so we could make all the candles at once. Easy to follow directions. A money-saving kit that comes with all the basic equipment you will need. I'll be making more candles and all I have to do is buy the actual candle supplies. I priced out the basic equipment separately ( the pot, thermometer, stabilizers and tins) and they would have cost more than the entire kit.

My first time making candles was using this kit but I did do a ton of research before hand so I was prepared. This kit has everything you need to fill 12 candle tins. Here are my notes about this kit.Included but not limited to:You receive Four 1lb bags of Soy Wax.You receive Four 1oz bottles of fragrances.1 bag of soy wax mixes perfectly with 1 bottle of fragrances.One bag of wax fills 3 tins.You receive 12 tins total.You receive 3 wick straightenersGiven that information, it's only really practical to make 3 candles at a time, 4 times to complete the 12 in the set unless you buy more wick straighteners or use a pencil to hold the wicks up, as the cooling process takes longer than heating up the wax to the appropriate temps and adding color/fragrances. You could also wait for them to cool a bit then remove the straighteners like I did and use them on the next batch.It's important to read the simple to follow instructions and to add the color / fragrance at the appropriate temperature. Colors should be added at 175F and the fragrance at 140F. Once the fragrance is in, stir well and pour carefully to the line at the top of the tin so the measurements are consistent. I did not weigh my wax but each bag filled the 3 tins up to the line.To those who complain the thermometer was broken, while I have no doubt it could break during shipping, I found it odd people took the thermometer with broken glass and all out of the package just to take a picture of it...more likely they broke it themselves as you do have to be careful with it. In the future I would buy a Bluetooth thermometer as it is more accurate anyway and you can get notifications on your phone when it hits the temps you set.The value of this kit is really good too, if you were to buy these individually you'll pay more. The only "reusable" part of this kit after you've made the 12 candles is the pouring pitcher, the 3 wick straighteners, and the thermometer. I was given 3 extra wicks which was nice in case something went wrong you would have some backup, but I was not given enough glue dots. This wasn't a big deal since I just dipped the base into hot wax and used that to secure the wick into the tin. In the future I'll do this anyway since it's convenient and you don't have one extra material to deal with or pay for.The last thing to note is the color chips are all black on the exterior except for orange. They do come labeled, but if you take them out and mix them around you'll never be able to tell the difference between the red and turquoise for example. Just make sure you keep them in their bags. I also didn't use all of the chips, so in this regard you can mix and match your own colors although they do tell you which chips to throw in when making each scent.I wouldn't consider myself a crafty person but I think I'll have a lot more fun making up my own candle scents with mixtures of fragrances and using different jars.Overall, I think this kit was definitely worth it. I had a lot of fun and now I have the confidence to start throwing in my own styles and making them unique.

I love this kit! Not only is it great for beginners, it's great for candle lovers. I buy candles each week ranging in price from 2 to 4 dollars. In all honesty making my own is not only cheaper but it's more fun. The candle instructions are easy to follow and the materials that come with it are great. I used 1 lb of wax to create 2 tin candles and two smaller decorative ones. The scents that come with it are great and really fill your home with the fragrance. The Wicks are just the right size for the candles however once you put them out they do leave a little smoke and an after scent of burning wax. They burned great however the fire does seem to jump a bit but that could be from the room and any Gusts of air that might have been hitting it. Overall I really recommend these for anyone looking to get a new hobby. I attached photos of 3 of the candles that really show how the color in the diamonds are pigmented, it really took up a beautiful hue.

Comes with everything you need to start making soy candles, including helpful instructions. The thermometer in the kit I received was broken (probably in transit) but I contacted Candlewic and they responded immediately and I got a replacement within two days!I received the Spring/Summer kit, even though I ordered in February, but the scents are still nice. You'll need a pot for a double boiler. In my opinion, the pouring pot is slightly too large for this kit in which you make one pound batches per scent since the thermometer is a little too short to comfortably reach the level of one pound of melted wax in the pot. It's slightly uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it. When I make batches larger than one pound in the future, this probably will not be an issue. Otherwise a very great kit to get the basic supplies needed for candle making.
