This is my third Case knife and I would recommend these little guys to anyone in need or want of a good pocket knife made to actually carry and use.This guy comes out of the box very sharp. I was able to shave a bit of hair off without having to sharpen it whatsoever.I tend to actually use my pocket knives and this guy is no different. The day I got it I had a large load of boxes I needed to break down, probably 30 to 35 boxes. I used this knife for the entire job and it held its edge very well.I have since sharpened it and it takes an edge easily. Overall, I love this purchase as I’m a fan of Case knives. I would however still recommend this knife not just on looks, but also on its usefulness. Great purchase!

I’ve had 2 other trappers from Case over the past 30 years. One I lost and wore the blade out on the other. This is my go to knife for all of my cutting needs. Comes from the factory super sharp. Easy to sharpen and holds an edge. Super durable.

I like the quality and packaging as well as the speedy delivery

First, let me start off by justifying why I deducted one star: the synthetic scales are just ugly. They don't look as good as they do in the photos. They are just a flat, dull brown. On the other hand, if you're going to carry this in a pocket with keys banging against it, those Delrin scales are not going to show any wear. So Case is right to name some of their knives (the blue ones) with synthetic scales "Workman Series." A workman will not care about this, but someone who really takes pride in his knife will.The build quality is good, not great. These days, Case knives may have gaps between the liners and backsprings. This in no way effects function, but it is a shame to see; as they weren't like this 40 years ago.The grip on this knife feels like a slim steak knife, when I have it open in my hand. Although it is called "Slimline", the spine of the blade is actually pretty thick.As always, Case's surgical steel takes and holds a great edge.Regarding pocket carry, this is good in all but dress-type pants. While it is a bit longer than I like to normally pocket carry, it is both thin and narrow. Sometimes too, it is just nice to pull out a pocket knife and have a full size blade to work with. I don't do a lot of heavy duty cutting of rope or anything, but I do use my pocket knife to peel and cut up fruit, and for this kind of job, this knife excels.A note on this model compared to the conventional trapper pattern: this one is more comfortable in use, because when the blade is open, the handle is bare. There is no second blade pushing into one's fingers, while the other blade is in use.So my closing recommendation is that if you want a knife you'll be proud of, and you like this design, pony up another $15 or so and get a bone-handled version of this knife. If it is going to be mostly a work knife, this one will do the job for you.
