Brass pipe fittings and adapters
I’ve ordered a number of different configurations of these threaded brass fittings and adapters for my small, 150lbs air compressor I use in my garage. Each one came with a well-machined thread but other than one item, (for which I ordered 3), all the other fittings came without thread protection.Because these fittings are brass, (a very soft material), and meant for an air compressor, I was surprised that they didn’t have better protection of the exposed pipe thread ends. Most had an ID tag-tape made of a paper-thin, (about .005) plastic material, wrapped around one end of the exposed thread. Of course, these tags aren’t meant to offer any protection. Many of these fittings were packaged together loosely in a plastic bag and then shipped in a bubble wrapped envelope. Some did show signs of nicks on the threads but so far, they seem to be holding up well without any air leaks, (I keep the compressor set to 100psi). Of course, I wrap each threaded end with Teflon tape prior to assembly. I must admit most small brass fittings such as these, often do ship to hardware stores without thread protection. The more expensive and higher quality fittings would be dipped into a waxy solution, which quickly dries and protects the threads during the shipping process. The wax-like protection is then very easily peeled off just before it’s about to be used.As a retired machinist, we would never consider shipping threaded brass without some form of protection but it would likely increase the cost of the item, I’m sure.At any rate, I haven’t had any problems with these fittings at this point. I did measure a few and found the threaded ODs to be inconsistent in size varying as much as +/- .010 inch from fitting to fitting but they were within the tolerance of the national pipe thread, (NPT ), specifications for this grade.I would consider these a good, standard quality air compressor fitting and wouldn’t hesitate to order these from the same manufacturer again, in the future.Rich

The only shower adapter to extend a shower fitting past granite tile walls
This is the only shower adapter the correct size to extend a shower fitting past granite wall tiles. Thank goodness Amazon carries it!When we put in a new shower system, the faucet pipe was installed 1" behind the cement board, and granite on top. The arm we used is square, where a round shower arm would have fit into the hole (but recessed 1", so not a great solution either). We needed a short connector that would extend that shower elbow out to the granite surface for the shower arm to fit into the socket. After checking the big box stores (ALL of them), their only solution would be to buy 2 pieces that fit together... a terrible solution since together, they would have added 2", and thus extended the arm roughly 1" past the shower wall.Perfect, high quality machined, this was the ideal, and only possible, solution. If you are retiling your shower in stone, you will need this fitting unless you do not mind a 1" shortened round shower arm. If your shower arm is square, it's not going to fit at all without this fitting. I am attaching a photo of the problem this fitting resolved for us.Thank you soooooo much for making this available on Amazon!! Without it, the shower arm and faucet would not have fit correctly into any new shower with this same problem. I hope the photo and review helps others looking for the same solution, because we bought this blindly hoping it would work, and it does!!

Another quality Anderson fitting..
I have purchased a bunch of Anderson fittings in the past year. Seems like boxes of them in different sizes and shapes. Generally I have found them to be remarkably good. Maybe not perfect, but certainly MORE than just "good enough".I needed this NPT adaptor to fit up an over-pressure valve to some high pressure 3/8" tubing. It worked better than I could have hoped. The finish on the fitting is good and the threads are within specification for NPT. I have purchased several fittings this year where the NPT specification was NOT held, but NEVER an Anderson fitting. They always seem to line up and tighten down exactly like they should. This particular fitting is a pretty standard item. You can usually find them at the local "big-box" stores and some local hardware stores. Usually Anderson fittings are about the same price as those found at the other locations or maybe just a tad bit less expensive. AND I can get them delivered to my door so it saves me gas money too.!! I LIKE Anderson fittings. I have never received one that was outside of specification.I won't comment on the makeup of the alloy here. I don't know if it is recommended for potable water use or not. Since that wasn't my application, I was not concerned with the specific alloy in use.Once again I find myself recommending Anderson fittings. They are a respected U.S. company that manufactures a quality product at a decent price. You can't ask for more than that.

Perfect size for extending shower head/wand
The dropear in my new shower for my handwand is about an inch or so deep below the tile, and the fancy new shower valve/head/wand kit is square, so it cannot recess into the wall to reach the dropear. I tried the no-name 1/2 fip-mip adapters on Amazon first - they aren't really FIP, they are straight thead (NPS) and came with washers. Then I tried the brasscraft one, and that thing is just too big. This one is smaller, and threads further in, allowing me to get the base of my shower hand wand flush where it needs to be. So if you need to extend your drop ear connection out to your shower head or wand, this might be what you need.
