Q: Since this is a manual charger... where do I get information on how long to charge the battery? It has a timer correct?

I can't remember if any literature, that came with it, had recommended charge times. It could really vary based on the size battery. Your best bet is to do a little online research based on your battery size, i.e., cold crank amps C.C.A. Just a heads up this charger should only be used on standard flooded lead acid batteries not AGM, sealed batteries, etc. Yes, it does have a timer but it times out after a maximum of 120 minutes. For a large 12-volt battery that is “dead” or a deep cycle battery, 2 hours isn’t nearly long enough to re-charge them. Manual chargers are not meant to be hook-up and walk away units. You should be around to monitor them during the charging process. Unlike “smart” chargers this charger will easily boil a battery dry over time. Unattended manual chargers have caused fires in the past by people not following directions and leaving them unattended. This is why they are so hard to find, anymore and we have the so called “smart” chargers.

Q: Will this over charge ,want it to over charge?

Yes it is a manual charger. Not one of those stupid "smart Chargers" that wont charge a dead battery.

Q: If charger is set to 225A for jumping, how long does it put out the 225A before it cuts itself off?

I have ran it at 225A , for 15 minutes, using the timer and it ran the entire 15 minutes. I don't know if it will cut itself off.

Q: Does the 50a setting charge at 50a “continuously” or does it cycle on and off like a “smart” charger?

It does have a “ float in it, it will charge at 50 amps, as long as the battery will take it, then as the battery reaches its maximum 14.7 volts, it will reduce the amperage down to nearly zero, which will keep you from overcharging, or boiling the battery, which would ruin it. I use mine in nearly a daily basis. And it works perfectly. The best thing about this charger is that is NOT, an electron icky controlled charger and operates as a Manual charger.
