Excellent product
This made a great improvement with giving injections. The only downside was how long it took to receive it.

If you’re struggling to give your pet insulin injections buy this!
Our sweet little dog was diagnosed with diabetes & was prescribed daily insulin injections. We struggled to give him his injections & he absolutely hated it. He would fight & buck & cry. It was horrible & I was in tears every time I had to give him his shot. We seriously considered putting him up for adoption. I desperately searched for an alternative to the preloaded insulin pens (which were too expensive for us) & thankfully found the Autoject. It literally changed our lives & made administering our buddy’s shot a breeze. It does take several attempts to get the adjustments correct but is worth the time, even if it means a few less than perfect injections at the beginning. Our little buddy is doing great! His insulin levels are perfect & happy endings all around. I am only sorry that our Vet didn’t recommend this product to us when I mentioned we were struggling. It would have saved all of us months of suffering & tears.

Keep the needle centered in the device
The device worked well when the dosage required the needle to be fairly full, as extending the top of the needLe helped stabilize the needle in the device. However when I needed a small dosage, I found out that the needle moved around in the holder and as a result the needle never protruded from the holder at all, and the needle just squirted the medication inside the device rather than injecting it into my skin. I need to devise some way to keep the needLe properly aligned to prevent this malfunction. This is a follow-up to the information above. I am continuing to have problems with the device because the needle does not stay centered when only a small amount of medicine is loaded in the needle. The spring-loaded push bar will snap down on the needle, and the needle will tilt rather than extending the point through the intended injection spot, preventing the point of the needle from properly extending from the device. The needle will be 'stuck' at an angle, and the medicine will be dispensed inside of the device rather than into the intended injection site. Not sure what I can do to fix this, but I know it is fixable. I will experiment, and if I find a solution, I will post it here. But right now, I cannot recommend this device for use with standard injection needles. Perhaps there are other needles available that will stay centered, but they would have to have a larger diameter cartridge than the ones available locally at the local pharmacy. When the needle stays aligned, which frankly is rare, or when the cartridge contains a lot of the medication and the stem is extended farther, the device works great.

It just works
I struggled with using both 5/16 inch and half inch needles…often with minor damage as a reward for my efforts. This product changed everything. It is very simple. It is effective. It reduces pain, swelling, misfires, etc. For me, it is indispensable. I highly recommend it.
