Excellent quality and works well!
This is a great product... D'Addario has been around a long time and they know what they are doing. Good quality strings make a BIG difference... Don't buy 'cheap' strings... If you want to enjoy playing and sound good, buy quality D'Addario strings. Highly recommended!

My favorite acoustic strings
These are my favorite strings for my acoustic guitars. They are very quiet due to the milling of the string windings (not as much 'string-screech') They aren't quite as bright as regular string sets but just right for my style of playing- soft mellow jazz (need brightness, turn on the amplification). I would say they last a bit longer with a little care; cleaning and lubricating them every so often. They are more expensive than the regular sets of strings but are well worth it.

Not flatwounds but maybe better
I have been sampling flatwound string sets for various applications. These are not fully smooth so there is still some string noise if you slide or drag your finger tips while changing chords or neck positions. I do find these quite nice and just enough noise reduction to make playing a parlor guitar or accoustasonic guitar sound good even unplugged. Standard strings can sound thin on these small body guitars. The phosphor bronze keeps the sound true to design with added fullness that was missing otherwise.

Balanced tone, bright not bassy
I put these on a student's Seagull OM type acoustic guitar. The strings that came on it were heavier and of the 80/20 round type which hurt his fingers and squeaked like crazy (new player, learning technique) and so, he limited his practice/playing time. These were easier for him to articulate individual notes on. The bass is not as deep, but they have a nice ring and balanced tone.

Eliminated my finger squeaks
I’ve tried a number of different types of guitar strings on my Martin HD28. I’ve been looking for a solution to my finger noise problem. The squeaking is showing up on my recordings, and is impossible to ignore. The guitar tech that I work with recommended Elixirs. They did lessen the finger noise to some extent, but not nearly enough. These D’Addario Flat tops got the job done. For me they have totally solved my problem. I highly recommend them for anyone who is looking to get rid of excessive finger noise

I like this product for value for money and the tube retention and the quality and the durability and the string quality and the tube retention and the smoothness is good to by the way.

Flatwounds and Cancer
I have been a cancer patient for three years now and some of the drugs result in neuropathy in the fingers making roundwounds tough to play for anything over 10 minutes. I can play the flatwounds for hours! Wonderful therapy it is too.The acoustics are "as advertised". They are mellow and warm with a sharper attack and quicker fade than roundwounds which is a plus or a negative depending on your style of music. Also the finger squeak is vastly reduced. I strung them on an all wood, small body guitar with a cedar top and the sound is incredible. Very old time so great for blues, alt country, rock and roll, jazz etc etc. I look forward to using these on a '61 Old Kraftsman archtop I am in the middle of restoring.
