I'm using this product with my ckd dog. I've read a bunch of reviews that mention that they just dump it into their pets' food. However, the instructions say it should be given whole on an empty stomach. I give it to my dog it at least 1 hour before a meal. My dog takes it easily when hidden whole in a tiny bit of fish. Sort of a pain until you get a routine, but it works well and is worth it.

Good product. Labs at VET look good.

I have been using this product upon my vet's recommendation and it did help stabilize the blood levels.

7/18/25: Product arrived with an inner seal but no lid to reclose the jar (deduct one star). There is a small scoop inside, but no detailed dosage instructions based on the pet's weight (deduct another star). Surely the dosage is NOT the same for a 8 lb cat and a 50 lb dog. Anyway, I am going to see if there's any improvement in my cat with beginning state of kidney disease. She still seems happy, eats her normal amount, and is playful but has gone from over 10.5 lbs to 7.5 lbs in the last year or so.I am starting her off with a half a scoop of this powder mixed with her wet canned food and she eats the section with no powder first, but an hour later, when the rest is combined with her dry food, she finishes it right away.9/12/25: Still the same pattern, eating the wet food section with no powder right away, and then finishing it all when the rest is mixed with the dry food. It seems like she has more energy and is more playful. Her poop is no longer hard either. Even tho she has not gained any weight, she hasn't lost anymore either.

I’m giving this 5 stars mostly for its ease of use. I have a senior dog that has kidney disease and the vet recommended a different brand of this probiotic that came in capsule form. The capsules were impossible to get him to take and they aren’t supposed to be opened. This meant I couldn’t just mix them into his food. I tried this version of the probiotic and he doesn’t even notice he’s taking it when I add it to his food. Even though it’ doesn’t require refrigeration, I keep it in the fridge. He’s almost 16 years old and he’s still going strong so this supplement could have something to do with that. I’ll continue to give it to him and hope it’s making a difference.

I purchased this product to replace a much more expensive similar product I’ve been giving my dog for kidney function. Within days of the switch she began drinking excessively again. She had stopped that while on the more expensive product. I should have just stuck with the former product knowing you get what you pay for. One thing I should have noted right away was the fact that this product is not shipped on ice. The label claims it contains the same probiotic strains as the former more costly brand. Yet that brand ships on ice and the company stated it MUST be shipped on ice and kept refrigerated to protect the ingredients. Why wouldn’t this brand do the same? It is a shipped from Amazon in a regular box, no ice in the heat of August. The results speak for themselves. Don’t waste your money. Go for the good stuff and pay a little more. I’ve since purchased the former product and switched back. Wasted money trying to save a little.
