The poles snap too easily.
This canopy is amazing until the poles snap and then it's useless. I replaced the broken poles with another set of tent poles and they took snapped. Unfortunately it isn't particularly robust. For something so expensive, I'd expect more life than just a couple of months from it.

Very useful and hasn't broken yet.
Fitted on a 18' x 9' Intex pool and it works very well. It gives a good arch and doesn't impede standing up. I would say that a 9' pool is probably the 'plum' pool size though an 8' or 10' would still work well. I fitted it on my own but would definitely have been easier with two people. At 1.8m it only covers part of the pool so those that don't burn in the sun can still swim in sunshine. Fixes securely to the top rail of the pool without damaging the vinyl lining. My garden is fairly sheltered, however it has withstood some gusty conditions and the fabric shows no signs of degrading in the sun. I'm intending to buy another and cutting the fixing arms a little shorter so that one canopy fits inside the other. Then I can move the smaller canopy along the rails to create pool cover of between 1.8m and 3.6m as required. The rods that bend and make the arch can easily be replaced should one break. Would definitely recommend to those who need sun shade or just a little privacy if you are overlooked.

Works great
Exactly as advertised. Works great for shade. Stays up even on our most windy days too! (50mh gusts) though you can put it together by yourself it would be easier with two ppl.Update(7/6/23) we had two incredibly nasty storms. Winds at 70mph as well as straight line winds at faster spends. One pole snapped at the connection where two poles meet. ( the metal is now bent and no usable) so while it holds up well in most winds it would be advisable to take down when storms roll through.

Great shade
We bought this in spite of the reviews. I love this pool shade, we’ve used it all summer without any issues. A pain to put together but totally worth it! We’ve had wind and it’s stayed on the pool. We plan on buying another one for next summer so we can cover the majority of the pool.

How to fix Poles
everyone has the same problem the poles breaking at joint.. because the joint don't flex in the wind. easy fix to this.. after you get your kit go to big box hardware store, buy some PEX-B Tubing it comes in 1/2 X 20 for each one you will need 60 feet of it.. now drill the pole holders for cross brace to fit poles now cut the poles to fit in canvas..slide the tubing in the slots its tight but will fit..glue all the poles joints and then do the assy sliding the poles into the new tubing.. the assy will hold up to wind because its now reforceing the poles and spreading the force of wind over the whole pole..After mine broke in a 20 mph gusting day I did this..now no problem with wind breaking the poles at joints... even in 40 mph gust.. your looking at a 20$ upgrade that well worth the cost..now I injoy the canopy and no broken poles.. over all its a good product.. but because of shipping you cant get one peace poles..I have 2 on my pool and being in NewMexico we have sun and wind all the time..

Not worth the money, broke after 2 days!
It arrived quickly and my husband and I struggled to put it together. Once it was up we were really happy with it, honestly it was perfect. BUT the enjoyment only lasted 3 days as one of the poles cracked from very low strength wind. My husband and I doctored it up and a week later it was broken in several other places and no longer usable. I can’t believe we wasted 100 dollars on this, what a rip off.

Wonderful!
Our pool is in direct sun and often has the temperature of a warm bath. This lowered the temperature to where we actually wanted it, so much so that we bought two to cover the pool.
