Glencoe Math, Course 1, Student Edition, Volume 1 (MATH APPLIC & CONN CRSE) 1st Edition

Heads up: If you homeschool and use Khan Academy, the material in this book (which is presumably 6th grade) is already covered in 5th grade on Khan Academy. There is no new material here.That said, I like the layout of this book, so hopefully course 2 or 3 will cover my needs. My daughter largely homeschools independently, and this book would have been perfect. No need for a textbook, workbook, and notebook. There is even room on the margins to show work.

I can't stand common core math - but the book was needed for my son's class. There is a Volume one and a Volume 2 and BOTH are identical in design so read carefully as to which one you are ordering. Most schools use Volume 1 for the 1st 1/2 of the year and move onto Volume 2 for the second half.

Great Common Core Math program. Every school should use it. It is easy to teach, it is set up in a way that the students can easily look back at the examples if they get stuck while doing homework. There is a ton of extra practice material on-line, plus on-line tutor videos for the kiddo to use.

Glencoe does so well with their math curricula. I would recommend this curriculum to anyone that home schools their children or recommend this to any district. Wish my school used this in our school.

all the tests in this book were written on!! i thought it was a new book, it looked very good on the outside..there were multiple pages written on & like i said before all tests were taken by someone else :(
