These are good speakers
TLDR - They are goodReplacing a 15 year old set of $35 Logitech 2.1 computer speakers. They still work, but I noticed that they were getting muddy and music sounded bad compared to some inexpensive earbuds. These are not the most expensive Edifiers, but I figured for basically computer desk duty they'll be adequate. I need them to do computer speaker duty but also movie and music duty as this is in my office/man-cave.There is one drawback, these speakers will let you know shortcomings in your music collection. You can tell when you're listening to FLAC. Not kidding.I'm not an audiophile. Hard core audiophiles don't shop at this price point. Those people use words I just don't know the meaning of. All I know is these speakers are good. There are audiophiles on the internet who reviewed these speakers and they said they were good and they used all the fancy audiophile words. So, go find those. From my perspective, the highs, mids and lows are all there, nothing is missing. Of course, I'm going from some worn out cheap computer speakers so there's that.As I type this I'm listening to some jazz at 320kbit and I can find no faults. But I probably wouldn't find fault in some really good wine out of a box.The sub is good. It's not going to shake your walls down, consider the size and wattage we're talking here. It's perfectly adequate considering the speakers it is paired with. You notice it when watching a good action movie. It isn't obtrusive, the lows fill in nicely and don't overpower the rest of the music. Apparently that is good.Overall the sound is "warm" in my opinion - probably due to the wood structure. I like that. These speakers are heavy. They are well made. What you're paying for here, I suspect, is build quality and quality of the components as much as design. I don't know that Edifier is doing anything design-wise of the actual speakers that hasn't been done for decades already, but they seem to have put together a really good package for a reasonable price.Bluetooth works well. RCA inputs work fine. They give you gold plated cables, which is nice. Did not try optical yet.If I needed to fill a larger space than this office I'd probably go for their larger and more expensive 350 model found on this site.I will definitely be looking at this brand in the future when the need arises. Are they worth the price? So far I think so. Logitech makes some very popular 2.1 sets for less, but I just didn't want speakers that look like computer speakers, I wanted a good quality 2.1 bookshelf type set that would work on my computer desk, and that is these. Plus, these are actually available and I could get them in 2 days.

Great speakers for the $$$$
"Alright, so I got the Edifier M601DB, and let me tell you—this thing slaps harder than my grandma when I forget to call her. The sound quality is so crisp, I’m pretty sure I heard my favorite singer take a breath between verses. The bass? Let’s just say it’s strong enough to rattle the windows and make my cat rethink all his life choices.Setting it up was a breeze, and now I’m finding excuses to blast music at all hours. It’s like having a concert in my living room, minus the overpriced tickets and questionable bathroom lines. If you want to turn your place into a sound fortress without breaking the bank, this is the speaker system to get. Just be ready to apologize to your neighbors—often."

Nice speakers and sub for the price range.
If you're tired of messing with cheap sounding logitech or those mega cheap 5.1 sets, This is a good intermediary set to use. Multiple inputs, and a remote to help switch between them.Speakers are wood, and heavy duty. The two main speakers can handle most audio and sound great, but if you want the movie or good audio experience, turning on the subwoofer helps. The sub is connected via bluetooth, and the speakers usually find it quickly when it's turned on.The system has bluetooth for input as well. You can cycle through the inputs through either pressing the main button between the volume buttons, or through input on remote.Note: remote is thin and black, and easy to lose, so you'll want to keep it near speakers, or put something on it to find it when it inevitably runs away somewhere. Price is decent for current electronics.

3 months and Dead
I'm very disappointed in this system. First off - the sound quality is just okay, nothing close to my Bose (that I took to my office) Companion 3 system (not even close). The bass is a bit muddy. More importantly, 3 months in and they're apparently dead. No light - no power. I unplugged and plugged everything back in and still.... nothing. Now I have to go through the hassle of trying to figure out how to get these returned or just eat $250. Not happy.

KILLER sound!
The media could not be loaded. The speakers were slightly smaller than I expected, but that was fine because they sound great, and the subwoofer really packs a punch! I love that I Bluetooth Spotify from my phone and use the Edifier remote to skip through my playlists, or I can just listen to records if I choose. Awesome little system. The sub is actually a pretty decent size.

Fantastic system, amazingly happy
I have set up these supposed wireless Bluetooth systems before and have ended up setting them back because they are unworkable so I'm always apprehensive when I approach a set of these speakers. I opened the directions it said plug things in everything will turn on so I did that and I got my phone and I turned on Bluetooth and there were the speakers and within 6 seconds of plugging them in I was listening to music. It doesn't get any better than that than the fact that they have amazing sound and are attractive enough to be in my main room.10/5

Great speakers, wireless sub is a nice feature
Bought these for a tiny office, and they are probably way overpowered for the space, but that's the way it should be :-) They sound great, even at high volume, no distortion. Bluetooth works flawlessly, very easy to connect, and the wireless sub is really nice, I love not having the extra cords running below my desk. Beware, these are much larger than regular desktop speakers, so if you're using them for a computer, make sure you have the space. It was a solid purchase, especially because I got them Used - Very Good from the Edifier store, so $60 off.
