An Ingenious Solution Made In The United States!
The power, volume, and TV device selector buttons wore out on my Panasonic RM-VLZ620 learning remote. In the past I would repair worn out buttons by shaving the conductive layer off an old remote’s rubber keypad, then gluing it on to the keypad’s worn out button on the remote I’m repairing. Although this worked well, after a couple of months the piece I glued to the keypad would fall off and the button would stop working. So I decided to try this because it attaches to the circuit board rather than the keypad.Based on all the positive reviews I was fairly certain this would work well with the larger power and volume buttons that were worn out. However, on the Panasonic RM-VLZ620 there are 8 device selector buttons, and each selector button has 2 tiny little contacts that are about 3mm x 3mm in size, with a tiny center LED between the 2 contacts. The 16 contacts for the 8 device selector buttons are extremely close together. I really didn’t think I’d be able to repair my worn out TV device selector button because the adhesive perimeter around even the smallest button in this kit would overlap onto the adjacent device selector button contacts on the circuit board. My worn-out TV device selector button is on the top left side of the remote, and there’s no button adjacent to it on the left side. The left edge of the circuit board was the only area where I could place the adhesive perimeter without having it cover the tiny center LED. I had to cut one of the pads in this kit in half so the adhesive perimeter wouldn't cover the LED on the right side. Then I had to significantly trim down the adhesive perimeter on the top and bottom so it wouldn’t overlap onto another button’s contact. This worked, but it caused the device selector button immediately under it to stop working. At first I thought my repair somehow overlapped onto the lower button’s contact, but that wasn’t the problem. When I placed the repair on the circuit board for the upper button, it prevented the lower button from making contact with the circuit board. This happened because these two device selector buttons are so close together, and although the lower button was initially working, it’s safe to assume that it was fairly worn out too. Placing this thin repair so close to the lower button prevented it from making contact, so I repaired the lower button in the same way. I also repaired the worn out power and volume up/down buttons with 3 of the larger repair pads, and now the entire remote works perfectly.I understand that the longevity of a repair with this kit is based on applying the repair pads with their full perimeter of adhesive. I made my repair by cutting a pad in half and trimming down the perimeter of adhesive on the remaining 3 sides, so it may not last. However, I made the repair 4 weeks ago and it still works. This is a great product that’s made in the United States.

Best method for keypad fix - They just work great!
They just work great! I've tried the other methods of keypad fixing (paint on, copper tape, etc). To me, these are by far the only thing to use. And I think it's just this one guy in Maine who figured it out himself and does it. Can't thank him enough!

Remote Repair
This remote repair kit worked great. Once you discover the trick to removing the paper cover over the adhesive it is easy to use. The trick is using a fine point awl and tweezers to remove the paper cover. Make sure to clean the circuit board with 91% alcohol. I repaired two remotes with this kit and saved a ton of money.

FINALLY a permanent fix to fix button failure!
Works Great!FINALLY a permanent fix to fix button failure!Where has this invention been all my life! Why don’t more people know about this!More and better advertising will make this guy millions of dollars!Really, he needs to go way bigger with this! If he doesn’t have a patent, other companies are going to go big without him.Such a fairly easy fix too. Especially for anyone who cleans their own remote’s insides. As an electrical engineer who has experimented to fix many buttons, I know exactly what this guy is talking about. He knows.Watch his video. We have a remote control that is strange, for an antenna DVR, and the “fast forward” and “play” buttons were worn out from skipping commercials.Fixed both of these buttons with this!Buying this button repair was well worth it, because simply buying a new remote control was not an option, because this remote control is no longer sold anywhere, and now we have many extra buttons to fix other remotes. And now it is just a test to see how long it lasts. But the way it is built gives me great confidence.

Stay with your favorite remote.
I repaired my old TV remotes (I use three). Volume and channel change buttons go bad. The one I use is no longer made. After buying several from EBay ,they no longer show up.I was able to repair five with this kit. I now have five functional remotes.
