No, it transforms into a different shape. It is a really nice toy.

Q: What are they made of?

Plastic. This particular one is alot better made than some of the others I have seen that look just like this. My granchild had one of the cheaper made ones and he ended up taking mine because he liked it better. They look alike but don't feel or move the same.
