This is a real professional practice chanter. Precision milled from a durable plastic, this instrument is moisture resistant and won't be damaged from carrying it about with you so you can practice anywhere without worrying you've cracked your expensive wooden chanter. The finger holes are perfectly chamfered unlike the splintered edges you might get on a cheap wooden practice "instrument". It has a traditional hemp thread wrapped joint (not rubber o-rings) and comes with two quality reeds in their own protective vented case. The stylish carrying case for the disassembled chanter is small enough to pack but roomy enough for the pieces of the chanter and the reed case to fit easily.

Absolutely love the chanter itself. Great quality, very nice to hold, not heavy. Note that it's difficult to assemble when it's new, but after a few times it gets easier. My only disappointment was the quality of reeds. Unfortunately, both I got were not producing correct vibration and sound (you know, that rumble going into a tone), they were just whistling. no rumble. And thus no correct sound from the chanter either.

I have had a 21 inch chanter a 16 inch chanter and now the 18 inch which is PERFECT !!! I have only had it a couple of day but the sound is crisp and it fits my arm length and fingers easily. The quality seems good as well, but have only had a few days. Just wish the case was long enough to accomodate the chanter when the mouthpiece was on. Other than that I think I am going to love it.
