Q: Will they get hot laying on it for a long time? My husband has to be turned every two hours, would hate to have to keep sliding it under him to move.

It's pretty sturdy, but if the move is not a smooth one, it will move a little bit. It didn't get any warmer than the sheets do when someone laid on them for a long time. It worked well for us.
