Cashews dipped in peanut butter with a touch of salt
These little treats were a wonderful surprise from Nature Valley. They basically take the healthy granola bar model and apply it to nuts of varying types and dip it every so slightly into a butter like coating. They are absolutely worth the cost. Each bar is a bit larger than the original oat style Nature Valley bars - and is about the same thickness as the two original bars while still in the wrapper. They are not too filling, but they do seem to curb my appetite a bit - as I get a quick treat that is still labeled as a healthy alternative to regular snacking (chips, candy bars, etc). I've tried their peanut, almond, mixed nut and now cashew variants and all are delicious - although almond ranks among by favorite. For those a bit nervous about the "sweet and salty" being too salty - don't be. I'd equate it to no more salt that you'd get if you bought some salted peanuts from Planters - in fact, you'll notice the salt a lot less, since the sweet is fairly noticeable (not overpowering though).Overall, the value pack will ensure these little treats last a while - and provide a nice alternative to the super sugary snacks we normally stocked in our home. Also an ideal treat to keep in your backpack, purse, etc - as they are individually wrapped and seem to hold up nice enough on the go.

The Perfect Anytime Snack
I love these Granola Bars from Nature Valley. I eat at least one bar everyday! It has the perfect balance of sweet (but not too sweet) and a little salty. I like that the bars are soft instead of hard & crunchy. The bars are easy to take with me for a snack or as a substitute for Breakfast or Lunch. I have a monthly subscription for these bars which saves me 20% off the cost and then I don't have to remember to order them...I always have some in my pantry when I want one. Also, I pay the lowest price anywhere with my Prime Membership & having my monthly subscription. Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Granola Bars Cashew have become my favorite treat. I am eating one right now :)

Way overpriced!!!!
One star because of the price. You can get a box of six for about $3. Thus at the store, 6 boxes for $18 (total of 36). This is $10 more! I don’t know what I was thinking! But they are good tasting. No problem with quality. Just go to the store.

Rich and Yummy
I've stopped buying or baking cookies and cakes. Instead, when my sweet tooth is throbbing, I reach for trail mix bars. This is one of the tastiest of Nature Valley's many varieties. Matter of fact, it's tied for first place in my book. Its counterpart? Nature Valley Protein Bars, Peanut, Almond and Dark Chocolate. Can't make up my mind which is better. Needless to say, my pantry stays stocked with both. These bars have a coating on one side that helps hold it together and adds the most delicious "icing." The bars don't crumble and make a mess, and although they're nice and chewy, they aren't at all sticky.Simply delicious - and the amount of protein makes them an ideal breakfast choice.Way to go, Nature Valley!

Nice taste. I am used to having either Peanut ...
Nice taste. I am used to having either Peanut or Almond chewy granola bars. Cashew granola bars are a nice change. But I didn't like having to pay shipping since non of the items in my Panty Box (especially not 5) were eligible for free shipping. I guess that means I'm better off running out to WalMart or Smart and Final for a couple bags - or anything else that was in my pantry box purchase.

Just as predicted!
Foil wrapped, fresh, loaded with sugar and carbo, tasty, a killer for diabetics, good energy source, dog's love em, wish cheaper, never the same price..Smiths, Von's change prices weekly from 2 for $6 to as much as $4 each, back and forth, kinda like a box of chocolate, you never know what price you gonna get, wife eats far too many, but hey, less cooking I have to do, Don't leave on car dash during hot summer months, some peanuts bad for dogs, don't eat if you have peanut allergy.Look for any vendor that as free shipping..saves a bit.

Do the Nutrition Math
I recently took a nutrition class and realized I was taking in way fewer calories than I should be, thus sabotaging my diet and health. My guilty pleasure is coffee and I drink that all day instead of eating. Ergo, the easy solution was to throw granola bars by my coffee pot. Problem solved. Sort of.Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE these bars. Cashews are my favorite. These are so delicious it's ridiculous. However, in roughly the same round of purchasing, I also picked up some Kashi bars (chocolate almond sea salt), Larabars (blueberry muffin), and Quaker bars (reduced sugar chocolate chip). Out of curiosity one day, I did a breakdown of what these little beasts really contain and compared it to the other three. You can do the math for yourself, but I realized that when I was breaking down the sodium and sugar, these topped all the others. They also contained less fiber. In fact, when I was breaking it down, even the basic chocolate chip Quaker bars outperformed them in most areas.Ergo, what I thought was a healthy snack is the farthest thing from it and, because they're so low in fiber, you get hungry faster after eating them, meaning you'll probably consume more calories overall.I am NOT a nutritionist or a doctor or any kind of a medical professional, so please don't take this as medical or nutrition advice. However, if you're like me and you're thinking... "Hey, this is natural and made from nuts, so it must be healthy," do some research on nutrient density and perform your own calculations. I still love the flavor of these bars, but now I've got several boxes of them I don't want to eat because I know I can do better.
