This is so worth every penny!
This is my first inline mic preamp. The retial box is adorable, well looks like a small TNT stick in the same blue color. And top makes a very satisfying pop sound.Enough gushing over the cute box it comes in.The ability to make fine tuning with the adjustments really makes a difference and very worth trying each until you find what works for you best.I use a Yamaha MG10XU and it provides the 48v Phantom power to activate this preamp. The phantom power does not go past the preamp.I use a SHURE SM7B and while the YAMAHA works fine by itself and for me atheist I found I don't need to turn up the gain as much as most show. I am set up in a very small confined space so most audio settings I use are nothing like the pros suggest. So I won't be suggesting gain settings or impedance suggestions. The build quality is excellent. The ease of use is excellent. The audio quality is excellent. (Make adjustments to find the best for your mic)Reminder this is not for condenser mics. This is for dynamic mics of the XLR variety.Value for the money is excellent.I can highly recommend this for anyone looking for a dynamic mic inline pre-amp.5 stars all day long.

Great for my setup, Versatile
I wasn’t sure if I needed a preamp that provided more or less decibels in boost so I bought this. I am by no means of sound engineer. but this has been great. I’ve been able to mess with the impedance and the decibels levels with my sure SM7B and it has helped boost the volume of my mic great without any extra noise floor problems.I would totally recommend if you have more than one microphone that you will be working with in your studio that requires different impedance or decibel levels of boost.

Must-have for Audient Evo 4 or equivalent interfaces!
The USB audio interface that I'm currently using is the Audient Evo 4, which offers a gain range of 58dB. Apparently the built in preamps wasn't enough to properly drive the Rode Podmic, and so I looked to these in-line preamps for a solution. While this is a bit on the pricey side, you do get a decent quality boost with up to 30dB of clean gain, while being able to toy with the impedance.Where I had to max my gain out at 4 o'clock (maxed out), with the DM2, I have it at 11 o'clock now! The microphone quality is not only amplified quite a bit more, but there is no additional noise from the 3 ft cable that I am using.Definitely recommend!

Amazing Gain!
Wow what a diffence this pre-amp makes. I was going to sell a ribbon and this saved it. It's fabulous now.Dynamic mics I thought were great came alive! Really impressive. This makes medicre mics sound like $2,000 mics. You'll be blown away when you connect it to a SM57 or SM58. They sound like different and way better mics.

Glad I bought one
Seems to do what it says it will do. Offers more adjustments than a CloudLifter at a lower price. Small package which is good because there’s no need for this to take up much space. The cloudlifter is a metal box. Why? The sE has a better form factor. The amount of gain is adjustable between 15 dB and 30 dB. 15dB is a lot of gain. 30 dB is HUGE! The ability to adjust the impedance is nice too because you can effect the tonal quality of the signal. Even if this isn’t a piece you always use, it’s definitely worth having one in the mic locker!
