Kenmore Dryer running but no heat
Used youtube.com to help troubleshoot why my dryer was not heating. I have an old Kenmore dryer from 1998 in which the heating element is accessible from the back (not from the front bottom as shown on newer models). Like some people who like to renovate antique vehicles, I like to keep my dryer running as long as possible (cheaper to replace parts than a vehicle :-). After unplugging the dryer (VERY IMPORTANT) and disconnecting the vent pipe at the bottom rear, I removed the back panel (easy with 1/4" nut driver). On the back, the heating element housing on the right has two thermostats one upper and one lower (there are two other dryer thermostats on the far left side of the back of the dryer). To check any thermostat, simply use a voltmeter continuity function to check for a break between thermostast terminals. If you unplug one of the two thermostat terminals, then attach the two voltmeter leads to the two different terminals on any of the thermostats, and the meter does not show zero or very low resistance (a current flow), then the thermostat is bad, i.e. if there is a break, then it shows no current flow at all (infinite resistance). The upper thermostat on the left side of the heating element housing was checked, and it had no continuity, so was bad, causing the heating element to "stand down", i.e., it was not heating. The cost of the part can vary widely depending on the website, but if you can locate the part number (Kenmore website has drawings), look up the part number on Amazon, which is normally cheaper than many other websites. Mine cost $9 for the part. I installed it, re-assembled the back of the dryer, connected to power and re-connected the vent pipe at the bottom. Works beautifully. Guess I'll get another "5000 miles" on my dryer now. At 21 years old, it still runs. About 8 months prior I had already done a complete cleaning and replacement of key parts, including the motor. Now I just need to clean and paint a portion of the outer cabinet that now shows rust.

Fits Perfectly, Cheap and Easy Fix. My dryer is working again.
Fit my Whirlpool dryer perfectly. As long as you know how to remove the back panel on your dryer, this can be installed in minutes. I have changed a few of these, and can replace them in under 15 minutes start to finish (removal to replacement of the rear dryer panel). On my dryer, you only need a flat head screwdriver and either a ratchet or box driver. A small investment to make my dryer run again.

Good parts for DYI job
My existing cycling thermostat was testing good but my dryer wasn't operating properly. I order these parts, installed them and I was back in business. Although it took some time, it was much less expensive than having the dryer repaired or replaced.

Quality parts amazing price dont be too quick to throw out those old appliances!
Hello recently my whirlpool dryer went out and needless to say it caught me in a bit of a pinch with my current financial situations. This would have been the second dryer I have owned to crap out on me in a 3-4 year span the first being a Kenmore model. I wasn't ready to go out and make payments on a newer and nicer model or just buy me a good used one so I did a little research and found that dryers can be a quick fix. First I tore apart my Kenmore dryer that I still have in garage and took some parts off it and applied to my Whirlpool dryer since its really the same machine. I was lucky enough to switch the door switch assembly from the Kenmore to the whirlpool but the fuses on both models were blown so I took a gamble and purchased this set and plugged them up and bam!! That was all it needed a new thermal fuse and a cycling thermostat fuse was very happy because ivsaved alot of money! Lol

Have my 4 heat settings back
Troubleshooting showed my control panel was sending the correct voltage to my old cycling thermostat. The thermostat was working so the internal heating element was shot and showed as open. Easy install and now have correct operation of extra low, low, medium, and high heat settings. I did not need the thermal fuse but it never hurts to have a backup on hand.

DR Quality Products ROCKS!
I was so pleasantly surprised to find the part(s) to fix my dryer available on Amazon! I researched my dryers symptoms online and it led me to the parts that I found through DR Quality Products. And, on the item listing it stated the symptoms your appliance would have, if it needed this certain part. (There were a couple of other parts that could be possibility. I ended up ordering them just in case.) And, just as stated the first part, that it said it would need was the fix. And QUICK delivery!!!I am so appreciative of the DR Quality Products service! Thank you and God bless you! You definitely will be the FIRST PLACE I will look, the next time I am in need.
