Best kitchen knife I’ve ever had.
This knife is beautiful and had perfect edge right out of box. Feel of knife in hand is very comfortable and entire knife has been buffed and smooth. I have tried many different types knifes up to about 150$, this knife is far superior to any of them and well worth the investment. The blade does get patina easily actually the first time I cut onion saw some discoloration. So if you don’t mind the extra work of a carbon steel knife then this one can’t be beat.

A must for every serious cook…
If you know cooking tools, you know the name Kramer. Synonymous with quality in cooking knive design, once you use one you’ll understand the hype. I was lucky enough to receive the 8” Damascus-style Kramer (I have a review for that as well) I knew I needed something a little smaller, but just as utilitarian as my 8”.I chose the smaller carbon steel even though it takes a bit more care and I couldn’t be happier. The feel of this knife in your hand almost makes it feel like an extension of your arm. It’s incredibly useful and probably THE MOST comfortable knife to use for any extended period of time due to its thoughtful design. You’ll want to use something else to cut your veggies and acidic foods, but any meats are no match for this beauty. What a wonderful, thoughtful gift to give anyone who is serious about food.Attached picture shows my 6" carbon steel compared to my 8" damascus.

It’s ok
So, I didn’t realize how much I would have to baby this knife to keep it from rusting. It’s a lot…Also it imparts a carbon taste to the food it’s cutting.

Great craftsmanship
I like the ergonomics of the knife. The knife is very light for its size. I didn’t think the unavoidable buildup of patena would bother me, but it does. Normally I would not be bothered by it, but a knife this expensive should not only function well, but should also look good. Nevertheless I have two in each size. In the future I will purchase straight carbon steel knives with a coating of stainless steel.
