The reviewers that said these are the wrong size just need instructions on how to install this sort of thing. It is a perfect fit for 1/4 inch tubing. The barb is oversize to keep it in place and provide an airtight seal.Heat a cup of water to boiling in the microwave.Place the ends of the tubing in the hot water for 15 seconds. Shake off the excess water and force onto the barb.

Works well. First, heat the end of the hose to be fitted in very hot water (not boiling) and then push onto the filter. Perfectly snug fit using 3/8" OD (1/4" ID) hose but you have to work - it is very snug. Won't fit unheated.. Do the same to remove and clean. Do not immerse filter in water though. Shipping was a bit slow but that's what we get with USPS.

As Expected. Useful for keeping wild microbes out of homebrew beer.

As others have said, nipples are 5/16" not 1/4" and cannot attach to standard air lines without adapters. Was going to use this for aerating wort but now I see a trip to the local brewstore in my future instead for the correct size filter.

Worked just like it was supposed to. Kept my beer clean and without contamination. Buy It.
