Q: Which pocket zips? will zipped pocket hold a 3x6 cell phone?

No pockets zip. All close with velcro. Pockets are big enough to hold a cell phone.

Q: Long sleeve size guide says 24” ? Is that correct? Seems short .

Normal length sleeves. Maybe they are referring to the sleeves rolled up to fit the button and loop that keeps them rolled up to about elbow length. I bought this same type about 10 years ago. Material was much heavier. This material is much lighter weight. Still OK. very comfortable.

Q: How are we supposed to interpret those sizes? Geesh!

The shirts run big so definitely order a size down unless you just want it really loose. I love these shirts.

Q: what is the waist size for 3x?

Not sure but my husband wears size 46 pants and it fits around his belly .
