Well designed
I have a troubled history with bike headlights. They are either so flimsy that they break after a year or two, or the battery stops holding a charge and I have to replace the whole unit. This Fenix BC26R has excellent fit & finish and looks like it will hold up to daily riding. The replaceable battery is an excellent idea. The beam is bright on "high" (one setting below the brightest: "boost") and even has lenses on the sides to increase my visibility from those directions. I have spent three times as much for lights that aren't as good. I'm very happy with this purchase.

SO BRIGHT
*Update* At some point while riding without the light on, but the mount still attached to the bike, the part of the mount that actually holds the light on fell off. It's a tiny piece of plastic so I didn't even notice it. Fenix's customer support was quick to respond, but didn't offer to replace the part or mount. I ended up having to buy a new mount for $15.This light is spectacular! It's about as bright as the headlights on my car (narrower beam) and the battery lasts way longer than I was expecting.I did a midnight ride up Mt. Saint Helens and used this on its lowest setting on the way up and the highest setting on the way down, and it was flawless. Didn't even dip one bar of battery on the way up, and it was still half full by the time I got back to the car. 20-ish mile ride, maybe 3 hours with the light on.The beam is annoying on my drop handlebars as it picks up the drops and I get weird shadows with it, but it's still super bright.I think the mounting bracket could be a bit larger to accommodate for modern bars that are wider, or have lots of cables on them (particularly on the drop bar), but it works just fine.Very impressed with this light, the mounting clip is really easy to clip on and off so I can take it into the bar or house when I'm not on the bike. And the adjustments left to right are solid.Highly recommend spending the money on this light if you ride at night and want to see and be seen.

Decent light, ability to replace battery wins
Decent so far, but beam isn't as strong as I'd like. However, the ability to easily replace the battery is an incredible feature.

Very pleased
Though I've only used this lamp a few times, I'm quite pleased. Bright light, dimmable, solid metal enclosure, standard lithium cell, and good handlebar mount that allows the lamp to be quickly disconnected without having to remove the mount and also to pivot off axis (with detents) for better aim.

Great light
Replaced my old Magicshine with bulky battery pack. Easier to remove and lasts a t least 3 hrs

Battery Charging Issues
Aside from the lack of a horizontal cutoff for the light beam, the light itself is pretty good. However, the light does not always fully charge its battery (i.e., the LED indicates that the battery is fully charged when it is not), which might explain the other reviews that complain about short battery life. Compounding this problem is (1) the battery is NOT a true 21700 (even though it is labeled as such) and cannot be charged in a standard 21700 battery charger, and (2) the light does not accept standard 21700 batteries, so you're stuck with Fenix's proprietary battery and the light's flaky charging circuitry.Update: I bought another battery and that seems to have fixed my charging issues. I have changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars.

For the moments that it works, it's great. But it spontaneously cuts out.
I bought this light May 2022. From the start, it cut out. Unfortunately, it got put away in a house move so missed the warranty window. When I re-found it, I tried using it again. It is a great light when it works...but when it suddenly cuts out, usually a the worst possible moment...it's scary. The batter indicator seems unhelpful, too. Even when fully charged, the batter level is pretty random. I have only used the stock battery that it came with so my issues with it are not related to others who claim the cutting out is due to using the wrong type of battery.I would love for it to work. Externally, it seems very well built and the beam is good (when it works). I have even considered trying one of the other Fenix models...but am afraid of another expensive mistake.

Super bright
I did a lot of research before buying this light. I wanted something sturdy that would handle the hard use on my son’s 125cc dirt bike. It handles the bumps without issue, has good battery life and has an excellent beam pattern for riding.
