Great around the house
Makes a great pocket flashlight. It’s bright enough to use around the house. I wouldn’t use it to go hunting or fix a car with, but it’s good to get around in your house.

Early days, but appears to be a quality product.
Normally I resist writing reviews just after I receive an item simply because I have no idea how long it will perform as new. But having purchased a fair number of similar items in the past years with mixed results, this one has all the hallmarks of being a keeper. The LED bulb is very bright on high and the switch that turns it off and on feels like it will work for a long time to come. One feature I really truly like is how the flashlight connects to the negative terminal (bottom) of the battery. The cheaper products in this category use a spring that can easily become distorted or crooked over time and have trouble keeping a good connection rendering the flashlight slightly less than useless. This one uses a thick metal pin of copper and it isn't going anywhere. That is the kind of thing I look for to determine quality.I will update this review quickly if anything changes. I don't expect it will.Bottom Line: Great price x quality product = great value.

Okay, Not as Good as Coast
For the money, they're great. They aren't as bright as Coast flashlights, but they also work only on a single 1.5v AA battery. Coast can use the 14440 3.7v that makes them very bright. These can't use those batteries, BUT are pretty good for the price. They have three modes: high, low, and strobe (in case you get lost at sea and need a beacon).Buy them for your shop. Buy Coast for watching your dogs in the back yard.

Best EDC flashlight
I ordered this flashlight and the price was $14.95 for 2 of them. And it included 2 AA batteries. It is only 4 inches long so it fits comfortably in your hand.It has a 6 inch long lanyard. It is zoomable. The beam is very wide.It has a pocket clip. The tail switch is bright orange. The tail switch extends out a little so that it is easy to find by feel. The tail switch is easily activated. It is waterproofIt has a strobeIt has 3 lighting modes- high, low, and strobeThis flashlight is probably the best I have ever bought.I think I may want to buy a few more. This is a great EDC flashlight ideal for—survivalcampingtoolboxcar gloveboxhikingand anything else you can think of.

Single AA battery, has 3 light modes
Coast discontinued the HP1, of which I have purchased over 25 since the year 2015 (at $10 or less each) to use or gift. Only one of those died, and only because a battery leaked inside it. Now I am on a quest to find a replacement and this is NOT it. COAST, if you can read this: please bring back the HP1!The bright orange tail cap extends outwards past the metal of the cap making it easy to accidentally turn on in your pack or pocket, but not able to stand "light-up" on a tabletop to illuminate the room. The three modes are bright, dim, and strobe (flashing) but are not programmable so you have to scroll past the the options by pressing - but not fully clicking - the tail cap.The lanyard is irrelevant to me but may be useful to some. The pocket clip is woefully weak and easily pops off the flashlight body. I am not a daredevil, I just have children and the clip fell off while I was chasing, crouching, bending, or hopping in the backyard. The Coast HP1 had two screws and was SOLID.For the price of $7 each these lights can be bought to keep in a drawer at home or the garage, or to give kids during Trick-or-Treating but I would not trust them for any real EveryDay Carry (EDC), survival, or camping use.

works great
Very nice, bright compact flashlight. The reason for only 4 stars. What I do not like about this flashlight is the way you have to go through the modes. You turn it on, it's bright. The next click turns it off. Next click turns it back on, it's low. Next click, off. Next click, strobe. Next click, off again. If you just want to use the bright feature, you have to do all the above steps just to get it back to bright. It would have been better to either allow you to click all the way to strobe without turning off each time, so that the next time you turn it on, it's where you want it. Either that, or a long push on the button so that the next time you turn it on, it's where you left it.
