An essential prep book for all GRE test takers! Very easy to use, covering everything from the very basics of algebra to the hardest parts of statistics as well as offering extensive practice for reading and comprehension.Don't sleep on the online material offered from this book - it proved highly useful and was split in sections that were easy to tackle when I had 30 minutes to spare. I ended up using the online tools provided from the purchase of this book a lot more than the physical copy, and still had a great experience. Moreover, the explanations were very thorough and easy to follow, allowing one to easily understand their mistakes.Compared to the test, I found that the questions offered in this guide were roughly the same difficulty, though perhaps slightly easier.I used this book for a week before my test, and my final score was average and within a 70-80 percentile, which could have greatly been improved by focusing more on the vocabulary section and memorizing difficult words (the book does have various sections on for vocab, including a glossary!).Overall, this is an essential guide for anyone taking the GRE! Pretty great product and study plan from Kaplan who are known to be among the top companies in GRE prep. Best thing about it is that it gives you access to their preimium GRE prep online which is what you'll mostly be using and where you can access all the practice tests. Utilize those practice tests and if you need additional help with Quant, look up Magoosh's quant formula sheet and memorize it as you will probably be using msot of them. Best of luck!

I learned that I had to take the GRE test for a Master application and bought this book to structure my 3.5 week preparation. It was a race against time, esp for someone who had not taken a standardised test for more than a decade. Book was useful, and their online tests were essential to my steep learning curve. Scored really well, esp for the Essays which I did 4.5!

Could be a very good tool to study. I got it in hopes to study but I barely did. It gives you many practice problems and tests as well as explains the testing process.

Did I want to buy this? No 🙂😅 But did it help? Yes!

Kaplan delivers useful strategies for approaching the GRE allowing you to tailor your test preparation in relation to your personal strengths and weaknesses. Probably the most benificial resource is the supplemental online material included with the purchase of the book. The multiple online full-length practice tests, as well as question banks and quizzes, get your brain accustomed to what you will experience on test day. If you are serious about bumping up your GRE score, this book is well worth the investment.
