Q: Is the kintsugi authentic? I see a lot of cheap imitations, bowls with faux cracks painted on them. is this product legit? or is it a replica?

We can guarantee that this product is legitimately made by a Japanese Expert Craftsman in the town of Sumiyama, located in Uji Japan. This village is known for some of the best high-quality pottery in Japan. All our these bowls are 100% handmade and there is a very long waiting list for us to order and receive these products due to limited production. Based on feedback from customers, we have further fine-tuned the design of the bowls to make sure we deliver against the highest expectations. That's why some of the old (negative) reviews are not relevant anymore as changes have been made. I will post additional pictures of the creation process by the craftsman to further proof the above point.

Q: How do you know this is genuine?

Our Kintsugi Bowls are handmade by a Japanese craftsman in Sumiyama, Uji. Sumiyama is known as a pottery village where Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki pottery ateliers stand next to each other. Those handmade bowls are made of red clay from Shigaraki area which is popular for high-quality ceramics, Shigaraki-yaki. And the gold work uses clay and real gold. The product comes in a beautiful box that includes a leaflet with more information as well.
