It provides great lateral support and reminds my buddy to take it easy.
I only put this on him when going for walks. It prevents lunging and pulling if we flush a critter. Our poor buddy is used to off leash walks in our fenced pastures so we have both had to make some adjustments.I went by the measuring guide and it may be a bit large if anything. We have a soft wheaten terrier. We have not had to use the harness attachment, but it is only on him twenty to thirty minutes at a time with constant supervision. He has no issue with his functions while wearing the brace. He comes to me to have it put on so we can go out. It has not caused him any discomfort and he does not pay it any attention, although it does change his behavior. We plan on lending this brace to our local shelter when (and if) we suspend using it. It is that well made. If it prevents the surgery and associated convalescence it is worth much more than it cost. If it turns out that daily use of this brace is our new normal I will still be very happy.

Don't buy this from Amazon!!
Not a great fitting brace and not returnable if bought through amazon because they have categorized it as non-returnable due to food safety issues. Which is just incorrect. Even the tag on the item says it is returnable. Such a scam.

Pretty good
The media could not be loaded. Great product I just have 2 complaints. First complaint is that the velcro straps that goes around the thigh brace is small and comes undone pretty easy. I easily fixed that by using a 1 yd velcro strap, cutting in 2 pieces and wrapping one strap around the thigh area and one strap around the under knee area and I did this without doing any sowing. Second complaint is that the inside is thin so it concerns me about the aluminum splints will put pressure on her knee joints if it's overtightened. I'm going to add cushion maybe using some pipe insulation or sticking some adhesive weatherstripping to the inside. Other than it's a good product. The brace doesn't slip or fall off and I can definitely see how it provides extra knee stability. Good product and my small less than $10 tweaks made it great for what I wanted

Helped the ACL tear
It could have fit better. My dog could only wear it for a hour at the most a day, and after a few day I noticed it was rubbing a sore on the lower part of the leg

The dog brace from a chiropractor's viewpoint :) (Update: Healed!)
Having fit literally hundreds and hundreds of knee braces on humans as a chiropractor, I know the importance of stability in any orthopedic device. This was the only small support for dogs that I could find that came with the metal lateral stays. It limits lateral movement of the joint while allowing a degree of flexion and extension. I like that it accomplishes this goal by combining the metal stays with the comfort and flexibility of neoprene. I've found that attaching the long belly strap loosely first makes it much easier to position and attach the brace to the knee. It almost immediately allows our beagle to walk while putting her weight on her knee. I have read that ACL (CCL) surgery is very expensive and often not a successful cure. I am also providing her with Vetpro's Hip & Joint supplements daily to reduce joint inflammation and pain and to facilitate tendon growth and repair. This is not going to be a quick fix but I'm hopeful it will alleviate the problem. I'll try to update later to report on my optimistic prognosis.Update: Its been over a year now and my Beagle is finally cured! For the past two months - no sign of limping whatsoever. My recommendations are the following: Use labra or similar brace in conjunction the the Ortocanis support to keep brace from slipping off the rump of dog and off the knee. Know where your dog's knee is located and make sure this area is stabilized and supported by the brace. Use supplemental self adhesive wrap (Hampton) to reinforce and tighten the brace by wrapping around the brace- further immobilizing the knee. Use a rubber binder at ankle to keep the wrap from coming loose. Do not be afraid to make the brace tight enough. It may restrict dogs gate initially. Use brace consistently - don't be discouraged by setbacks. Cartilage and ligaments take a year or more to heal because they have a poor blood supply and don't repair fast or well. Lastly, i've gone through two bottles of Vetpro Hip & Joint supplement to aid in joint repair. Good luck.

Well made but unfortunately.........
This product is well made. 3 size adjustments and very durable. However, it just will not stay on. My dog, surprisingly, doesn’t mess with it but when she walks it slides off her back then a few more steps it moves down which defeats the purpose. I did measure and I’m sure I have the correct size. She’s a 75lb pitbull.

High Quality Product
This is our second time using dog braces made by OrtoCanis and we’ve been impressed both times. Our first dog had torn both ACLs in his rear legs and we had the compression versions of this brace and it worked wonderful for his recovery. Our second dog tore his first ACL and when we tried the previously mentioned braces he didn’t like the feel of it. So I ordered this one with the metal “stents” in them and he started walking like a champ. Of course one that has to wear a knee brace. It’s got great support, very easy to use, and worth the money! Have even had techs at the vet office impressed with the braces.

Useless
The strap slides off in seconds. Maybe ok with a dog with an erect tail to help the strap stay on. Slips off no matter how snug. Absolutely useless product. No returns. Waste of $$
