Is there any modifications i can make to get this on a rim tank i didnt check before i bought it and dont wanna return it

A rim tank has the black trim and that’s what it’s made for.

I purchased this item on 3/12 i am now getting the e06 message. all connections are secure tight and dry. please advise?
