A bargain, all things considered!
This is a pot of miracles. You NEED this stuff in your life. Lanolin is the closest thing you can buy to what we as humans produce to protect our skin. Some of us don't produce enough oils to keep our skin comfortable, this is a great substitute.Great for cracked/chapped nipples whilst breastfeeding (as it does not need to be removed prior to feeding) but also for a whole host of other issues (chapped lips, windburnt skin, cradle cap). Do not expect Lanolin to be absorbed by the skin, it helps by creating a barrier to protect and give your skin a chance to heal itself. To me it has no smell or taste, I use it in homemade lip balms. I do find it a little sticky if I put it on a part of my body in rubbing contact with something else (tummy - shirt, shoulders - straps). The tub is resealable, though if I was using it for breastfeeding I would probably opt for a tube so that you don't need to dunk dirty fingers in there or find a utensil. It says to use within 12 months of opening but I don't think that is necessary. This is much better value than the branded one available in Boot's or Superdrug and is exactly the same product in different packaging.

Just what I wanted and expected!
I have given this five stars because it has absolutely fulfilled all my wishes. I'm a New Zealander, so I have an affinity with lanoline- which you will probably see from the following review.I have read a few reviews of this product where people complain about the smell: it is lanoline, so it smells like lanoline. But I would say that it is a very, very light smell of lanoline, and at least it doesn't have an offensive urine/sheep dung smell that some lanoline can have. It is warmly, comfortingly like hand knitted jerseys and clean, healthy looking sheep. (Yes, I am a New Zealander!)Apart from that, it is very thick and solid, which means it will go a long way. A slight warmth from a finger rubbing across the surface of it will melt enough to rub on one's lips or hands. And let's face it, it could get messy if it were runny, so the firmness is probably a good thing.I look forward to using it in home made lip balms and hand creams.

Smelly but works like lanolin should
Product is fine, does the job, but it's not low odour. It still smells like a farmyard! Container is pretty plain. Doesn't detail country of origin or where it is processed. Packaging terrible - packet was not even sealed closed. It was sheer luck I even got it as it was only hanging in there.

Thick and sticky.
This lanolin is a natural undiluted product and as such is quite thick and sticky. I used it at night for my hands. You need to use cotton gloves because it's so sticky. In the morning it is well absorbed and after washing your hands they have a waterproofed feel. I intend to use it on my feet as I think it will work well but I need to get the cotton socks first. It wouldn't be easy to use on the face except perhaps for dabbing on small areas.

Great moisturising properties.
Have bought this for years. I use it instead of lip balm. Doesn’t smell horrible or taste of anything. This tub lasts forever! Use it on any dry patches of skin, elbows, knees, ankles etc.

Lanolin cream
It’s just awful to try wash off or rather to get rid of from your body and hands afterwards. Obviously it’s water repellent I appreciate that fact. Had to stop using it. It would be helpful to know what to use to do so.
