It runs small. I'm size 4-6 ,and ordered medium. Fits well. Leather (or imitation leather) usually runs small

Q: Can you put your hands in the pockets?

Yes. Pockets are cotton-type material, so sturdier than rayon. Big enough for my hands and some other items too. Plus, pockets zip. Really like this jacket. Nice quality for price. I wear size 4 and ordered medium. Fits great.
