Incredibly good picture quality, it's my first curved ultra wide and I've never had such an immersive experience in games.At 1440p the panel looks great, had no dead pixels and supports freesync out of the box.The menu is easy to use, it has a mix of HDMI and display port. I like the addition of a 3.5mm jack on the rear also, so useful when using older headsets.Great value for money - it feels like having 2 monitors side by side.Mount is pretty good, offers reasonable range of movement and adjustment - but it has full VESA mounts if it's not right for you.

I went from a previous gen model, 27" ASUS 4K 6HZ to this 32" 24 165HZ Curved and I was not disappointed. 4K gaming is overrated and only reserved for top-end GPUs. 2K Ultra settings with a high refresh rate is the ideal target. I play a ton of games and I also create and develop mods for a few popular games so I spend a lot of time in Blender doing design work, Adobe Substance Painter doing texturing and in VSC doing codding. Overall this monitor performs well in all scenarios. I would not however, recommend it for Photoshop, being a curved VA panel, becuase its not the best panel tech for true colours, but if youre into Photoshop then you should already Know that

The media could not be loaded. If you are looking for a gaming-centric ultrawide display with great performance and a clear and detailed screen, you won't be disappointed by the VG34. Here's why...The ASUS TUF Gaming VG34VQEL1A comes equipped with built-in speakers, a feature that, at first glance, may seem more like a nod to convenience rather than a serious audio solution. These speakers, while not the powerhouse you'd find in a dedicated sound system, serve the role of a gentle stream rather than a roaring river. They produce sound that can be described as quiet and tinny, reminiscent of a small radio in a large room. However, this subtle performance is not without its charm. For activities like listening to podcasts or casual YouTube viewing, these speakers are like a soft-spoken guide in a library—adequate and discreet. They won't shake the walls, but they will faithfully deliver the story.I'm using the display with my PC (DisplayPort) and Playstation 5 (HDMI); if you connect speakers to the headphone jack, expect to hear a high pitched sound as the volume increases. This is a little disappointing, as my previous display (BenQ EX3202R) produced loud, clear, essentially perfect sound, over the 3.5mm jack. This is easily fixed by using a USB audio device with the PS5 and connecting that directly to the speakers. This is a very niche 'problem' that I'm not factoring into my overall opinion; a minor inconvenience, and more than anything, makes me respect whatever BenQ did to make such a great headphone jack! It's worth noting that you must disable FreeSync in order to change the aspect-ratio; something you will want to do if using a game console (if you don't want the image to be stretched)...this means I can't recommend the display for console owners, if console is their priority, as you will lose FreeSync in order to avoid a stretched image...and this also means you get black bars at either side of the image (which I was prepared for, with it being ultrawide, but the FreeSync arrangement is a let down!). This means 'VRR' won't be enabled; however 4K works fine and downscales very nicely.HDR performance is miles ahead of my previous BenQ display; although this display only has a brightness of around 350 - so you won't get a true HDR performance; however it still looks good. On Windows, nVidia cards can simulate HDR on SDR content (using some kind of AI process) - and it does improve the fidelity - providing deeper blacks with more detail in shadows. Top-end bright white colours lose any fine detail, but overall the HDR performance is better than I expected... chances are, it's best left turned off, only to be enabled on a display with at least 600 (ideally 1000) .The monitor's stand is a testament to engineering prowess, combining sturdiness with a well-thought-out design. I've owned pretty much every monitor and TV you can imagine so I have a lot to compare against.I once owned a 34" Ultrawide in the mid-2010's and it was £900. For that you got a 60hz display and the image quality, particularly text and colour accuracy, left a lot to be desired.For not much more than £300, it's crazy how much better this 165hz Asus is in 2024.Positives:No dead pixelsVERY brightNo glare issuesSubtle curve - immersive but nothing too crazyColour accuracy - good enough for me as a pretty serious amateur photographerExcellent textBest VA screen I've ever used.Indistinguishable from IPS quality, but with superior VA blacks/contrastHigh refresh (I use 120hz and 10bit)Large number of inputsNegativesVRR Flicker in some gamesNot true HDRRegarding the negatives, I'm not fussed that it isn't true HDR as let's be honest, you need an OLED and a lot of money for that (anything less is a waste of time). I don't want an OLED for my PC due to burn in. At this price and with how bright the screen is, you aren't actually missing much compared to gaming with my PS5 on my LG OLED TV. Shocked how good Diablo 4 for example looks versus my PS5 version on the OLED. It's not far off thanks to the brightness and typical VA deep blacks.The VRR flicker is the real big negative. My previous freesync monitors never exhibited the problem, so there is no excuse here. World of Warcraft Retail in the main city hubs (unstable frame rate) suffers terrible flicker (it's utterly catastrophic) and I have to disable freesync entirely. Meanwhile I tried games like Dragon's Dogma 2 and Diablo 4 and didn't notice anything. Geforce Now had no issues either. So your mileage may vary depending on what you play.I've tried all the so called "fixes" online and it's all twaddle. If the game flickers there is nothing you can do about it.For that reason I'm knocking a point off and giving 4 stars. Whilst it's cheap, I've had other IPS and VA monitors that didn't flicker at this price range. You can consider this a 5 star monitor if you are using it just for productivity, or playing games that don't flicker.

Would have given this monitor 5 stars were in not for the dead pixel and terrible colour bleed on the right corner of the screen.... This monitor was by far the best I had seen reviews wise for colour accuracy and value but the lack of quality assurance is unacceptable... Alienware AW3423DWP is only around 650 and arguably the best ultrawide on the market right now... I'll be picking that up instead... Maybe some else will be more lucky
