I needed to add a new strap-type wrench to my tool complement. I have had a variety of the metal oil filter strap wrenches over years, but they have fixed diameters, and have gotten bent, misplaced, and most filters I need to remove these days are smaller diameter and mine were the "old-style" larger wrenches. When I went to change out the water filter in my refrigerator the other day, and ended up having to try to get it loose with large channel-lock pliers, I decided it was time to buy a new strap wrench.In reviewing options, these adjustable rubber-strap wrenches looked to be the best solution. This set includes two sizes, and between them will fit the diameter of any filter you might want to remove, as well as working on a wide variety of other cylindrical objects. In close examination (and limited use to date), these are solidly built and yet are compact enough to get into any area that I could reach with my old-style wrenches. The rubber straps have gripped well for me, and the infinite adjustability means that you are not limited to the certain size range that the fixed-type metal wrenches will fit.We'll see how these hold up over time, but as of now the effective performance and very reasonable price makes them well worth adding to your toolbox even if you only need them a couple times a year.

They work as needed. But the screws didn't have any type of thread lock on them and vanished into the bottom of my tool bag at one point.

This worked great for taking the salt cell off to clean. It was tight on 1 side but this worked well.

Rubber is not a sufficient material for this application without some sort of strength increasing woven underlay. Steel belting or synthetic weave would make a good tool that generates both great friction and ability to withstand torque. These are faux tools. The handles are wimpy the straps are worse and the rubber will likely already have cracks in it. The moment you put any sort of force on it it will split. The handles flex absurdly also so if the straps were better they would be the next weak link. I would happily pay triple the price for a tool made with a decent handle and proper strap. This is the epitome of cheap gets expensive after a certain point.

I haven’t used this yet but it sure does look nice and it’s just like it looks in the package and I like it nobody told me to say that I did it myself

These are simple and easy to use.The new polymer smell is quite strong at first. It smells like new tires. But that will outgas over time.
