Short Best by date
This is the most delicious curry you could make and it is very easy & quick to use. I make a vegetarian curry with a a tin of chickpeas, 1/2 a tin of cannellini beans, 2 small sweet potatoes precooked in the microwave, a chopped courgette, 3/4 punnet of mushrooms. Sauté the mushrooms & courgettes on medium heat 3 mins, add 600 ml hot water, the chick peas, beans, chopped sweet potato, the Katsu curry block chopped into small pieces & simmer 4 mins. At around £1.68 per packet it is 62p cheaper than the supermarket. But beware, I received the package today and the best before date is 19th February 23. I recently bought one from the supermarket with a best before date of 19 June 24. I had been hoping these would last me for 10 months or longer.Update: I used the Katsu sauce this week despite it being a couple of months past the best before date and it was fine, no deterioration in taste. I have a couple of packets left and I’m just going to ignore the best before date. It’s not a use by date so the product is still safe to eat.

So simple and amazing taste.
I came across this as a replacement for a previous brand I used and I am so glad I tried this instead. It's the best flavoured katsu I have come across and is very straightforward to make, just fry an onion until brown then add cubes and boiling water and simmer until done.I would usually cook a full set of 6 cubes for 4 of us as a little extra sauce is always popular on the table. I'd even suggest a little extra water to what is advertised on the packet but this is down to individual preference I'm sure.Goes wonderful with a panko chicken or aubergine and it isn't as sweet as some alternatives which to me is a good thing. It has a little kick of heat to it but not over the top at all. The kids (6 & 9) might have a glass or milk with their meal to ease the spice but they look forward to it every time we make it (and they frequently request it).I would say the only negative might be it would be a little better if the packet were split into 2x3 cubes as you open a full tray of 6 at once but they can be stored a little in the fridge if needed. If you like a katsu curry or are eager to try one, I can 100% recommend this one.

THE BEST Katsu for home cooking.
This is simply delicious and closest to the flavour of our favourite “bowl to soul” big chain Japanese restaurant!!!But on Ocado et al it’s is usually £2.40+ so this saved me £1 per pack and as we have this dish once a week in our house it’s clearly the best way to purchase.Very quick to “cook” just add 300ml boiling water to half the pack in a small saucepan and bring back to the boil, in just a few minutes perfect Katsu sauce.I use M&S Breaded chicken escalopes and Tilda microwaveable whole grain Basmati rice and it’s a fast easy to make meal and a firm favourite with all the family.Highly recommend.
