essie Gel Couture Holiday 2017 Nail Polish Collection, Graced In Garnet

This Essie gel polish hits all the marks! The color is a gorgeous shade of burgundy which can be worn year-round. Its unique brush makes it easy to apply, and when used with Essie Gel Top Coat, it lasts at least two weeks. I highly recommend it!

In our current state of stay at home life due to COVID I ordered 2 colors (diamond in the cuff and caviar bar) and the top coat all from this line. It arrived today so I decided to go ahead and do my toes since they were in desperate need of a pedi. I’ve gotten professional pedi’s forever because when I do my own it looks like a 5 year old did them LOL. Not with Essie Gel Couture! The brush appears fan shaped and it went on evenly and easily. I had a couple smudges to clean at the end but that’s it. It looks so pretty and the top coat has a nice shine to it. It dried pretty quickly.Since I just put it on I can’t speak to the longevity. I’ll update my review later with that.Update: this polish lasted 3 weeks on my toes before it chipped! However, using it on my fingers it only lasted about 4 days before it needed a touch up. Either way, still the best DIY polish I’ve owned.

I have been doing my own gel nails for a while now. This is a great color. However, this particular polish was AWFUL! I tried twice (from scratch) to get this polish to stick. I tried a lot of extra time under the UV light, thinner layers, and every other technique to get it to stick. Both times, I had the top layer of polish peel off (pictured). I know I am using the correct tools and techniques. I don’t know if this is a bad bottle, or a bad brand in general. This color is so pretty and I wish it would have worked :(

The "jade to measure" is a lighter, slightly yellow pine color than pictured/described, but still has a nice sparkle and decent coverage. (It looks emerald in my photo, but that's the lighting. It's hard to take a photo of your own fingers!)The red in the picture is "rue de la ruby" — it's a flatter, more rosy red than a true, deep ruby.(Lol—note about that terrible manicure:I was playing with the colors while watching TV. Not going to leave them like that!) (But if I wanted to leave those sloppy edges, the gel couture top coat would keep them that way for weeks. 😄)

I gave myself a home pedi and it looked absolutely gorgeous! It has real staying power too, not a chip in sight. But it was very hard to take off with polish remover! it was like a full cotton ball with acetone per nail.So just be prepared to need some elbow grease for removal!

I love the Essie Gel Couture line and I was really looking for a pretty Emerald green, and I have a green color but it's got a blue hue to it in the light so more mermaid-y looking than true green. So when I saw this I thought "PERFECT!"Then it showed up and it's' the same color I already had. Due to the pandemic I just decided to forward it on to my niece rather than bother with returning it, because it is a pretty color, but nothing like the stock picture used in the listing. My error for not checking the name was the same

Not only did the nail-polish match my emerald prom dress perfectly, but it is extremely pigmented and an overall great product. I would 100% recommend and would buy again. I love it! :)
