As a Nursery Practitioner, I am always very happy when I am offered for review any toys or resources which I can share with the children in my playroom. We had been talking recently about sourcing some more challenging puzzles for the 2 - 3 year olds in my playroom as they always seek a challenge. This space themed puzzle linked really nicely with some enquiries we have been following in to space - several of the children in my playroom have been building rockets and so this enhanced their play provision too. Now, I must admit that personally, I am not very clever at puzzles and find them a real challenge - as you can see by my photo of the puzzle, I actually gave up with only three quarters of the edge complete"! Luckily, I work alongside a fabulous colleague who is far more mathematically minded than I, and she supported a group of children this week as they put together this puzzle. It was a challenge for them, which is expected as the guide age for this puzzle is 3+ - However, they persevered and managed to complete the puzzle! They were so proud of themselves, and spent quite a while looking at the images and asking questions about space. This allowed us to introduce lots of new vocabulary, and the whole activity kept a group of children focused for a good half an hour, which is great! Older children would be able to complete this far more independently, and would also be able to access the AI features which I must admit I haven't explored yet. The puzzle was printed in bright colours with good graphics, and produced on thick card which is durable, even in the hands of our 2 year olds! The pieces are a good size for little hands to manage too. Great value and ideal for children who are interested in space and STEM themes.

This is such an exciting puzzle. It’s packaged beautifully, the pieces are large and of good quality, fitting together perfectly. The size is great for little hands, and my pre-schooler and his 6-year-old brother have enjoyed building this again and again! Not only is it a well-made puzzle, with fun images and a circular design, but it has interactive features using an app! Something I haven’t seen before. We immediately downloaded the app which is fully explained on the back of the puzzle box. You enter some fun details about yourself, and then choose your puzzle design (space in this instance) and using your device hover over the puzzle, it becomes 3D with the planets floating off the puzzle, it’s so fun. You can then click on each planet, whilst still hovering over the puzzle with your device and learn facts about them, there are quizzes about the planets too. It’s wonderful, educational, and interactive! The boys have loved it and will be top of their class with their space knowledge! What an excellent product! Can’t recommend highly enough!

I love the fact that this jigsaw is not just a jigsaw. Will eventually be gifting it on to a good friend who lives in Jersey. She has two little boys, one loves Dinosaurs and one the Solar System. After completing the jigsaw you can go to the app store and download a trip to the stars. This is such a lovely idea for them as they live miles away from any observatory, bit like having the Greenwich observatory in your own home. This is ideal if you live far away from the above mentioned. He will love it.They also do a dinosaur one, but the other young man is already such an expert being about 8 now that it is probably too young for him now and the jigsaw would be too easy for him.Happy to recommend. A great idea for a rainy Summer's day or Birthday/Christmas gift.
