How much caffiene in an average bean?

The amount of caffeine in one bean varies depending on the size of the bean, how long it was roasted, and the type of beans being used. A larger bean will have more caffeine than a smaller one. one that was roasted for a longer period of time will have more, and Arabica beans are the most commonly used since they are less bitter and have less caffeine than a Robusta bean. Then there's the coating. A milk chocolate coating averages between 5-10 mg. Dark chocolate covered beans are about 6-11 per bean. The white ones are 5-6 mg. So, if a standard espresso has about 40 mg of caffeine, you might not want to eat more than 6-7 chocolate covered beans. A cup of regular coffee made with a filter would have about 90 mg or the equivalent of about 15 beans.

Serving size 23 beans, I only consume 6 in the morning as a treat and a little caffeine boost.
