What sad responses from the seller below. I'll be sure to skip them when looking to buy this. If the charger only works in one mode (straight and not 90 degrees) then it sounds to me like the charger has failed. The swivel has to have some wires that attach it to the internal circuitry or some contacts that make the electrical connection. I have a similar issue in that my OEM charger doesn't charge at all. I have two batteries and neither charge. The chances of both my batteries failing is far less than the charger having a bad connection the batteries also still work in my camera. In your case, the battery doesn't care about the orientation of the plug, but the wires or contacts inside probably do!

It means your battery is bad Connection might be corroded or just wont function anymore It’s happened to 3 of my EnEl15’s in the last 5 years
