If you remove the brush from the metal carrier (it will slide out) you can cut the carrier with a hacksaw and just use pliers snip the brush to the same size. You will then just need to crimp the ends with the pliers to keep the brush permanently in place. Can anyone comment / offer a description of the difference between the "Silver" and "Aluminium" finishes? (I assume the latter is duller / "brushed"?)

Are the brushes lightproof, meaning do they move apart or in any way allow light to leak through underneath the door when closed? Thanks

Hiya to my knowledge since fitting on the only light I see from the front of the door is the sides. Buy when I've fitted the storm guard on the sides and around the top of the door it shouldn't be a problem. The brushes are soft. It's helped me a lot for the bottom of my door. I would recommend.

Does it come in another colour

It is aluminium(silvery) with black bristles.
