Excellent results
We used this grass seed to replace grass removed when some sidewalk slabs were replaced. I tilled the ground, mixed the grass seed with bagged topsoil and fertilizer, covered the bare spots with the mixture, and watered daily for two months. The grass grew in thick, survived the winter, and is alive and well one year later.

Awesome job!
I used this grass to plant a 1/4-1/3 of an acre of grass. I used to have a large garden and wanted to cut it down. I planted the grass seed with a seeder in the fall of 2023. I wanted to wait to do the review to make sure it was going to work out!I leveled the ground out, as it was tilled with a tractor. I used the seeder to cover the area. I used about 3/4 of the bag. I did have extra straw bales laying around from the fall, so I took four bales and spread them out in about 1/2 of the area on top of the grass seed. I took a roller and rolled over the area. The grass seed sprouted and came through! I didn't mow until spring of 2024 (NW Ohio). In the spots that didn't sprout (which there wasn't many areas) I went over it with more seed.Fast forward to Fall of 2024.... the grass isn't patchy! It's perfect, thick, and mows nicely. If I ever need to seed anything, I will be buying this grass seed!Notes: This area that I planted in has been flooded in the spring by 1-2 feet of water for about a week underwater. I didn't know how the grass was going to do. It was not affected at all. This area also gets 100% sun all the time. This has not affected it at all either!Overall, 10/10.

This grass really does grow
I got this, honestly because of the claim to be tough turf. So far so good. Grows from seed to grass in a couple weeks. I used old grass clipping to cover the bald spots in the yard after laying down seed. I let the rain water it so if you are using a hose, it might grow even faster. I didn't have time for that. The point is, you can throw down seeds and grass clippings and let nature take care of the rest. Very easy to use and low maintenance....until it's time to cut the grass of course, which I'm looking forward to.Also, I have dogs so I will see if the claim to toughness follows through there as well.

Grass
I was originally told to sprinkle the seed on top of the ground. Later after the sprinklers washed the seed from certain areas I raked it in. Raking it the seed works much better. Faster. The areas I raked grew in as fast as the seed planted a few months prior.

Poor germination ratio - Garbage
Absolute garbage. I sowed these seeds in the early fall and after 45 days, still nothing. A see a few sparse blades came up, however it should be at least 10 times that since I overseeded, so I know the rate of germinated seeds is literally only 1% of what I planted. I had more and much better success with seeds I bought at the discount store Ocean State Job Lot for half the price! In one of the pics, you can see a bright green patch - That's the cheap seeds. The bare patch is the "Athletic Field Grass" I'm reviewing here. I planted them at the same time! I also planted some Pennington seeds that also had just as bad germination success. What a joke, lol. Now I can't get money back because Amazon only gave a month return window on these and it has passed. I wonder if it's an Amazon problem. Like the the seeds sold in here are old seeds or something. Either way, save your money and just get the cheap seeds b/c if they don't work, cat least you didn't waste your money.

Got Some Sprouts
I covered most of my yard as I only have a few grass patches. I raked the yard first and cleared debris and after putting grass down, I used the back of a hard rake to put some dirt over it. I watered daily to keep it moist but did not flood the yard.Only a few areas sprouted a little grass. I still have some left, so I will try again with it in the spring.
