Healthy food
The ingredients listed on the package are simple: Organic Chia Seeds (Salvia hispanica). As the package states also, Chia seeds do pack a major nutritional punch. One serving size of a tablespoon (12g) will give you 76 calories, 2g of proteins, 4g of fat (3g polyunsaturated) and 4g of dietary fibers.I personally bought these to make an edible paste made of almonds, chia seeds, flaxseeds and the pulp of some veggies that I got after juicing. It made for a pretty good mix of very healthy food. Of course you need a food processor. If you remove the veggie pulp, you will get a very tasty paste to spread on bread or crackers .You can also mix it with other foods to just add some good amount of fibers to your diet.

Viva delivers again!
I really like Viva as a brand since they seem to carry virtually any health item I need. I usually purchase their psyllvhusk fiber (I recommend it, mixes well unlike other powdered fibers) but I wanted to change my fiber supplement with Chia Seeds this time as chia also comes with a host of omega fatty acids, 5g of soluble fiber, along with various phytonutrients. Essentially its psyllium husk fiber but with added nutrients.I recommend "presoaking" in small amount of lighid in glass you're drinking from, stir the seeds around and wait about 30 seconds where the seeds begin expanding/gelling up. After this, stir the gelled liquid while filling the cup with rest of water or whatever beverage. Similar to how one should "bloom" their coffee when using a French press for coffee, same principle with chia seeds. So far I recently received them and have been using them for a variety of things, especially for my kefirs, kombuchas, and as a meal topper (sprinkle entire plate of food with seeds, neutral taste and not too noticeable) or ingredient in omelets and such. This seed is VERY VERSATILE which has me interested in adding it to more areas of my diet. Cant say how itll influence cholesterol and health in the longrun but I'm guessing I'm gonna be back for more.

Best Deal Around for the Size
I love Viva chia seeds! The price for this amount of chia seeds is unbeatable. I use them so many ways, they're a great way to get protein and omegas if you eat minimal meat like me.My favorite ways to eat them:1/4 c soaked overnight with 1/2 c almond milk and a splash of vanilla to make a delicious pudding that I top with strawberries for breakfast. In winter I add a bit of cinnamon & maple syrup and then soak them and top with apple pieces and walnuts.Blended with frozen fruit then soaked overnight to make a jam that's great on toast or in yogurt parfaits.I've even added them to muffin batter with delicious results.

Viva Naturals Organic Raw Chia Seeds - A MUST Read!
Viva Naturals Organic Raw Chia and Flaxseeds are extremely high in fiber. Agribusiness strips it out of most wheat products so we all would do well to add some back in when and where ever you can. I will buy this product again!UPDATE 04-12-2019This is my 2nd time ordering this Viva Naturals product. Still a great way to bump up the fiber in baked goods and will order them again!UPDATE 04-27-2019 & The 1-Star Reviewers - BugsI told you I’d order this product again; received it today. Now a word to the “1-Star Reviwers:” Based on my knowledge of the food industry and PERSONALLY SPEAKING WITH people who have worked in it as well, they know that no grain, seed and nut based product is free of insects! The manufacturers and FDA allows an “acceptable” amount of insect parts, larvae and the like to pass through the processing system. They KNOW that all insects aren’t eradicated from the milling process. They don’t tell you this but I think they really should so that the consumer won’t be scared off. I remember in college sitting at breakfast talking to 4 or 5 students who Co-op’ed at a few of the big Cereal Manufacturers (you know their names) and they told us how to read the code printed on the label to determine the time it was processed and when it expires. They also told us that larvae/eggs may survive the milling process so don’t be surprised if you see insects or parts floating in your milk. I personally would rather eat Organic food with bugs/eggs in it rather than GMO and pesticide drenched grain/seeds/nuts! For those of you who after reading this still have concerns, email companies and ask or post some questions on their company message boards! In the meantime, I will buy Viva Naturals products again!Update 09/04/2019Good for any baked goods other than something that is yellow (lemon or orange cake) or white (angelfood cake). When theses seeds get moist, they ooze a substance that will turn your bakes goods darker. Don't worry; just eat it anyway! I believe in this product so much that I added it to my Subscribe and Save List and received my order today and will continue to order more! Enough Said!

Quality Organic Chia at a great price!
I love this chia because it’s organic and much more affordable that our local grocery stores. It is also the only place I can purchase such a large amount. My local stores only carry 8oz - 16oz bags. I also like their new packaging as it is much more pleasing to the eye than their oldclear bag with the yellow label. However, I would still appreciate a glass container to be available. Unlike a fellow reviewer mentioned, I have never found dirt or random pieces in it. I showed an upclose picture so you can see how clean it is. I use this chia in everything from Sunday sauce to chia pudding to cooked quinoa dishes. It works well in everything! I have no negatives to mention regarding this product. I would highly recommend!
