It works for me
Please read up on henna before you purchase. This is a wonderful product. It's natural and it dyes your hair without making your hair feel like straw, even though it may smell like it for a couple of days LOL. I used to dye my hair light golden brown and after using this product my hair is darker, but it's a nice rich darkish brown and suits me quite well. There's all sorts of people out there that will suggest adding leave in conditioner, coffee, tea, and/or lemon juice etc. and I've found it does seem to be lighter when I've tried these, but personally I don't feel the mixture gets the greys as well. I'm not a fan of the smell and you're not supposed to wash your hair for a couple days after you rinse out the dye, so if you get rained on, you'll probably smell it. The mixture is like a green mud you smoosh into your hair. Make sure to get down to the scalp for those pesky roots. I don't find it to be terribly messy, just time consuming. None of these draw backs are deal breakers for me. I've been using this product for over two months and the new hair growth feels so healthy, not like the conventional hair dyed ends. I would recommend this product to anyone. I'm just glad there's something out there that's natural and works. This next part will just be some tips that I find work for me and might help others. Don't feel obligated to read on if you're not interested. I won't be giving out the secret to life or anything... Always follow the instructions the first time!!! I think this is kind of important because this may be the best way for you. There was a little line in the instructions I missed the first time about not using any metal, even to boil your water. I used my tea kettle the first time, oops. Nothing bad happened, I just wasn't as happy with the results the first time. Stupid metal and it's stupid weird goofing up henna properties. ( I am not a scientist, please don't quote me as an authority LOL) Second tip- if you choose to use leave in conditioner in the mix, this may help you rinse it from your hair better, and I've found I can apply the mixture without gloves and it doesn't stain around my fingernails. (which it totally will without the conditioner. Found that out the hard way, but it fades in a few days) Third tip - sometimes trying to disguise the smell makes it worse. I've tried using a cinnamon tea and peppermint oil and it seemed to just have a bouquet of weird aromas emanating from the mixture. Cinnamon brings out some red highlights, Chamomile brings out gold, all these are subtle, don't expect salon highlights results. Tip four - I split the powder contents in half. I twist the bag up and use a twisty-tie to keep out the air. Tip five - because this is natural and doesn't harm your hair, I use it about every other week. Occasionally more, if I missed a grey spot. The roots are really what I'm dying after the initial first dye. I mean I goop up the ends with what's left, but focus on the roots. Tip six - since the box comes with one plastic cap and one pair of gloves, splitting the contents leaves you with a bit of a dilemma. I use a regular old grocery bag on my head and I've applied it without gloves or purchase extras. Tip seven - My process is boil water, mix henna, and then I wash my hair. This gives it time to cool down before applying, and they suggest you apply to clean hair and I do this without clothes. I like the mixture to be pretty thick and muddy. Last time I didn't add enough water so it was more of a struggle getting it everywhere, but too much water would make it runny and that's not great either. I apply a thick layer at my roots. If I get any on my forehead I just wipe it with a piece of damp toilet paper. When it's all applied I stick the plastic on my head and try to stick it to the henna so there's not much air in there. I also tie the cap in a knot. Now I set a timer on my phone for around fifty minutes and work on things I need to do around the house (still without clothes LOL) ... I like to be in the shower before I take off the cap, but haven't really had any problem with it flaking off. Sometimes I go longer than the hour... I don't measure or follow the instructions any more really... I just do what works best for me. I really hope this helped and because you're such a good sport... Okay. The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is... 42.

I recommend this product.
I recommend this product. I'm very happy with the results! It's a great product, it covers well, but it may be a bit tedious and overwhelming if this is your first time using this type of product. If you're new to using henna, watch some video tutorials and do some online research first. This will be quite an adjustment :)This will give you a lustrous sheen and give your hair bounce. However, this is not your typical light brown color, at least not what you would expect. My hair was a dark blonde/light brown color before I used this. Afterwards, it came out a very dark brown with beautiful deep burgundy low lights with a hint of golden, sun kissed highlights. I loved it - the color was gorgeous!A few tips:- apply to clean (washed) hair- I recommend NOT using any type of conditioner- I have mixed in chamomile tea for golden highlights, or lemon juice (the highlights are very very subtle, and you may not see them right away)- the scent is like dry hay, but it doesn't bother me- don't wash your hair right after applying, you should leave it in for at least 48 hours- the application can get very messy, depending on your consistency, it's similar to putting Greek yogurt in hair (watch tutorials how others do it - it's very helpful)- don't use any metal utensils - it will skew the process- always use gloves- have an extra small damp towel handy to wipe your face/body- if you stain any area of your bathroom (walls, floor, etc.) make sure to rinse right awayLastly, embrace patience.None of the above are deal breakers for me. However, it is a big adjustment if you're used to professionally coloring your hair, or buying commercial-grade hair coloring boxes.Always, always read the entire instructions before you decide to experiment with it. If you decide not to add anything to the mixture, you should be ok. However, please know that the color (pictured on the box) may not necessarily come out that way on your hair. I was in quite a bit of shock (positive, though) when I first saw my hair. Since this is a light brown, I was expecting something similar to my light brown hair - what I ended up with was a dark chocolate color with burgundy low-lights and a hint of golden highlights. A hint, meaning I only saw it in the natural sunlight. I love, love it!My hair is shoulder length, I make the entire batch (1 box) and divide into two. I use the one portion and freeze the other in a zip-lock bag. Make sure it's properly closed :) if you decide to do the same. I color my hair every 2-3 weeks. Because I use the same color, or very similar color- I switch it up at times, I concentrate on my roots, so I really work the mixture into my roots and front of my face/ears, then the rest of my hair.- After I apply the mixture, I make a faux bun on top of my head and put on plastic wrap on my head covering most of my hair (some suggest a plastic shopping bag or shower cap) see what works best for you. I like the plastic wrap because I can better control the tightness and coverage. I then wrap my head with a big scarf (some use a dry towel) and apply heat every 15-30 minutes and place a towel around my neck just in case there's a leak - yes, it does happen! When applying henna, I'd recommend wearing something old and something that's easy to take off.You will have to experiment a bit with the consistency depending on the texture of your hair. I like Greek yogurt consistency, so that it's not too runny, but not too thick. Keep in mind, the mixture will get everywhere when applying it.I leave mine in for at least 4 hours, usually 6-8 hours. I like a very deep, rich color and that's the result I get. I don't sleep with it in because once it did come undone and the outcome was not pretty. Everything washed, but it got everywhere, too much cleaning and it gets everywhere once it's dry.

Love it.
It did not cover all of my gray hair but not because it didn't do the job but because I missed a few spots. It is a little bit challenging to apply the paste. Next time I will leave it in for 4 hrs. instead of just 3. I love the color I mixed in some chamomile tea as mentioned in the instructions it gives my hair some nice highlights. And I like the way my hair feels and looks, very natural not like the usual hair color. Henna is healthier. I will stick with the product. Definitely recommend.
