I was worried that this was too cheap and too old-fashioned - surely designs have moved on since the days of the sou'wester? Turns out I was wrong - this is a quality version for a great price that keeps you snug and dry in even the foulest conditions. Honestly, the best hat for sailing in bad weather I've ever owned.

Delivery a bit slow but as sent through the post rather than direct from Amazon not much anyone can do about it. Hat itself is a nice fit and I particularly like the ear flaps, they will be beneficial in colder weather. The rim is not as long as I had expected but as I haven't tried it out yet I can't be sure if it will keep the rain off my glasses although it does appear that the back will stop the drips going down my neck. Overall I am happy with the product

Perfect! Keeps my neck dry and stops t glasses from steaming up. I’m more visible in the dark and , guess what, my head torch fits over it - one happy customer!

Also keeps the ears warm and ary.

It is a very practical hat. I feel a bit silly wearing it though, as people turn around to look at it or ask me if I'm going fishing. The truth is that I expected downpours, but of course it is usually only a short downpour, and the rest of the time it is gentle rain.

This is definitely going to Norway with me !
