Q: how does this compare to hackrf?

amatuerDon't have an HackRF, but in seems it's a development platform for people customized with their own applications. The ICOM 7610 is a ready to go ham radio for general amateur radio use. HackRF is portable, the ICOM is a base station. If your'll an experimenter and software developer, the HackRF is appealing.

Q: Who is making you buy from gigaparts?

I don't buy from gigaparts anymore.I bought the new 101yaesu the 200 watter from them. I had to return it because I found out Yaesu does not make the AM good anymore.They concentrate their effort on ssb only.Gigaparts makes their money on restocking fees$$$$$Yaesu has you tune the mic gain wat down for the signal to be swing adequately on ssb but then you have to open the micgain wide open again to be heard on AM with backward modulation no greater than 60 watts. Not a deal at all for a 200 watt rig!!
